Clay formative education is an area in the art of teaching that uses three-dimensional formative work. It is a process containing merits in allowing students to approach schoolwork with a feeling of warmth, closeness, and familiarity tied into the memories of childhood, It allows students to express their interests and pleasures based on personal experiences, while gaining an emotional sense of stability and self-confidence. From this point of view, using clay education for handicapped students shows many positive effects, the positive effects helf to show the importance of this study in keeping with the purpose of development for the clay formative learning program for the handicapped students foremost in mind. In Chapter2, educational processes for the elementary class for handicapped students are discussed, the general definition and distinctive features of handicapped students are also discussed. In Chapter3, necessary educational conditions, distinctive features, and the guiding principals of a clay formative activity, are classified and presented on the level of application rather than a confirmation of the professional field. In Chapter4, it presents actual conditions using students and class programs which divide the classes into 3 classifications that helf fit students into their levels and classify studies about concentration times, times of standing ups during class hours, making time, and levels of interest. Further study is shown on the variation of students according to the theme by classifiing the matter of quality, and it was compared and analyzed on the attention span period of korean, mathematics, and clayformative learning. Results show the average attention span period was 18 minutes for Korean and Mathematics classes, and 41 minutes for the Clay foemative learning. The student with the best concentration abilities and attention span lasted 30 minutes in the Korean and mathematics classes and 50 minutes for the Clay formative learning. The student with the poorest concentration attention spanended with in 5 minutes in the Karean and mathematics class and 15 minutes on Clay formative learning. According to this research, the times of stsnding ups during the class hour were an average of 4.4 times in the Korean and mathematics classes and an average of 2.5 times in clay formative learning. The number of times that the student who stood up the most during class hour was over 15 times and obtained the same result from the clay formative activity. The sitting down period/time was 28 minutes in the Korean and mathematice class and 41 minutes on clay formative learning. That was the same result as the concentration period. There was about two times the difference in interest level. Korean and mathematice classes showed 35% and the clay pormative learning classes showed 70.5% of interest. According to the results of this study, the clay formative learning technique results in a higher attention span or time spending, as well as in interest rates compared to other learning. In conclusion, the clay formative activities should bapplied and used to help handicapped students in educational fields on developing outonmous learning abilities and spontaneous conduct or behavior.
