The Effects of the Integrated Natural play on the non-disabled children's attitude toward the ones with disability원문보기

The purpose of this study is to inspire the teachers to recognize the necessity of the attitude improvement treatment program for the non-disabled children, and to provide the teachers with a helpful source for encouraging non-disabled children to change their attitude toward the disabled children. The present study examined the effects of the Intergrated Natural play on non-disabled children's attitude toward the ones with disability. The subject of this study was 20 students of one class from 2nd grade students in GYE-SAN elementary school. The effect of the Integrated Natural play on the non-disabled children's attitude toward the ones with disability was evaluated through this test, created by Korea National Institute for Special Education and Siperstein(1980), which is aimed to check the scale for acceptability scale and activity-preference. The integrated Natural play selected in this study includes the plays which not only requires activity and cooperation of the non-disabled children, but also helps the disabled children join in with less difficulty. Each activity was implemented once a day for 160 minutes per session to the experimental group and the control group for 10 weeks between the 1st week of April, 2006 and the 1st week of June, 2006. The effect of the Integrated Natural play on the non-disabled children's attitude towards the ones with disability was measured by the two sets of acceptability scale and activity-preference scale tests before and after the experiment. The result of the above procedure is as follows: First, it was found that the integrated Natural play had a positive effect on the attitude acceptability scale of the non-disabled children toward the disabled ones. That is, a far higher enhancement in acceptability was shown in the experimental group given the integrated Natural play, but the activity-preference scale did not get a positive result It proves that it is a necessity to develop and provide the integrated Natural play to the site schools, because it is expected that these first-hand programs have more positive effects than the second-hand programs or giving the information only. Second, the integrated Natural play have had more positive effects on girl students than on boy students, but the interaction between gender and the control group was statistically not related to each other. It indicates that the integrated Natural play in elementary schools for the non-disabled children's attitude improvement toward the ones with disability can be applied in relation of the gender. Third, the integrated Natural play have statistically significant relation between the Disabled Integrated Education experience. The above result means that the systimatical treatment of the integrated Natural play should be provided at the earlier stage of the Disabled Integrated Education experience.
