This paper intends to clarify the dynamic difference in performance of en dehors caused by skillfulness andmotion type between a professional dancer and a female student majoring in ballet at S University who have similar physical conditions and have no physical injury. The study results are as follows: 1. The time spent for each section was divided by the total required time to get a percentage. In the section 3 that is the pile section before turning, the professional dancer showed a higher value of 9.92% (the student showed 6.79%) and in the section 4 of turning, the professional dancer showed a higher value of 13.2% (the student showed 11.49%). On the other hand, in the section 5, the student showed a higher value of 29.6%. It was found that she finished the turning and the pile motion fast and spent long time in the finishing step. The professional dancer had sufficient pile before turning. 2. Regarding the vertical change in the center of gravity of the body, in the event 4 where the body turns, the vertical height of the center of gravity of the professional dancer showed a higher value of 1052.7 mm (the student showed 1047.1 mm). It is thought that the professional dancer raised the center of gravity of her body fast by accurately raising the left foot in order to turn easily. 3. There was no big difference in the left and right change in the center of gravity between the professional dancer and the student dancer. 4. There was no big difference in the bending angle of the knees between the professional and the student dancer in the event 3 (the professional dancer: L=59.67, R=56.72, the student dancer: L=58.02, R=44.40). In case of the student dancer, she bent the right knee less than the left knee, which seems to result from her putting her weight on the left foot. In case of the professional dancer, the smaller bending angle was found in the event 5 than the event 3. In the event 4 of passe, the bending angle of the right leg was found similar. 5. In terms of the turning speed of the right hand, the professional dancer showed the fastest turning in the event 3 (3951.20 ms), and in the event 4 of turning, it was kept fast (3714 ms). On the other hand, in case of the student dancer, she showed the faster speed in the event 3 (5522.47 ms), which remarkably went down in the event 4 (1570 ms), which seems to result from that she couldn’t keep the speed due to fast turning of the right arm. 6. The professional dancer showed higher vertical reaction force of 501.1N in the event 3 than the student dancer (328.6N). The professional dancer seems to strongly press down the ground in order to get turning force. In the event 5, the professional dancer showed much higher vertical reaction force of 571.39N than the student dancer (517.97N). 7. The professional dancer showed the maximum vertical reaction force between the event 3 and the event 4 (3.99sec, 640.30N) which is the point of time to get turning force. On the other hand, the student dancer showed the maximum vertical reaction force between the event 4 and the event 5 (4.1 sec, 1192.55N), which seems to result from that she failed in keeping the balance after turning. In consideration of the analysis results, the professional dancer, when doing the en dehors motion, should have sufficient pile before taking an ideal turning motion in order to have big vertical reaction force and further, to get turning force. In addition, she should take an accurate up motion, fast increase the center of gravity, and then, turn. Any movement in the left and the right at the time of turning weakens the turning force so centering on the turning axis, a dancer should turn symmetrically. In case of en dehors that is right turning, by fast turning the right hand, she should get turning force and keep it. This paper couldn’t clarify the pressure distribution of feet so it will be studied in the next research. This paper intended to suggest concrete methods of teaching motions by dynamically analyzing the en dehors motion in ballet and a research like this will have to be made in the future, targeting several motions in order to prevent any injuries and to improve techniques.
