(Very Short Form of Children's Behavior Questionnare)을 박혜원(2007)이 번역, 수정하여 표준화시킨 CBQ 간편형(Short Form of Children Behavior Questionnare)검사도구를 사용하였으며, 유아의 문제행동을 측정하기 위해 홍강의, 오경자, 이혜련이 Achenbach (1991)가 제작한 Child Behavior Checklist를 번역하여 표준화한 K-CBCL검사를 본 연구자가 수정하여 사용하였다.

In this paper, leisure time activity, temperament and behavior problems were analyzed in relation to imaginary tendency and imaginary companions(ICs) among 148 3-6 year olds. Hypotheses were as follow: 1. Are there significant differences of imaginary companions depending on age and gender? 2. Are there significant differences of imaginary play depending on age and gender? 3. Are there significant differences of TV watching, temperament and behavior problems depending on imaginary companions? 4. What are the influences of TV watching, temperament and imaginary companions on behavior problems? In order to recruit children having imaginary companions, 728 3-, 4- or 5-year-old children who attend kindergartens and daycare centers in Ulsan were surveyed through parental questionnaire on imaginary companions and leisure time activities. Out of these children, 148 children who have imaginary companions and the same number of children who does not have ICs were further surveyed on temperament and behavior problems though their teachers. Total number of teachers were 37. Each teacher rated the same number of children in two groups(2 each in IC group and No-IC group). The questionnaire on imaginary companions and leisure time activities were prepared based on the measure of Imaginary Companions of Children by Taylor and Carlson(1993), and the temperament measure of the Short Form of Children Behavior Questionnaire by Rothbart was translated. For the measure of behavior problems, two subscales of K-CBCL(Hong, Oh and Lee, 1991) were used. SPSS 12.0 version was used for descriptive as well as inferential analyses including t-test, F-test and stepwise regression analyses. The results were as follow: First, there was a significant difference in the prevalence of ICs depending on gender but there was no significant difference depending on age. Analyses of the characteristics of the present and the past ICs revealed that there were significant differences in the time when ICs had appeared, and parental attitudes toward the past and present ICs and the gender of past ICs depending on gender. Also there were significant differences in the time when ICs had appeared and the gender of the past and present ICs depending on gender. Secondly, analyses of imaginary play revealed that depending on age there were significant differences in the onset time of pretend play as animals, pretend play as persons, pretend play as objects and the duration of pretended play as animals. Depending on the gender there were significant differences in the frequency of the present pretend play as persons, and using the ornaments and in the frequency of the present pretend play as objects, and using the ornaments. Thirdly, there were differences between boys and girls in time playing alone, type of play alone, types of play with friends, preferred toys, play with parents, preferred TV program, and preferred story in the group with ICs. However, in the group without ICs, there were differences in the type of play alone, experience of imaginary world during playing alone, types of play with friends, preferred toys, play with parents, preferred TV program, and preferred story between boys and girls. Finally, regression analyses revealed that impulsivity and control of temperament had significant effects on depression and impulsivity and TV watching time had significant effects on thinking problems.
