In order to understand honey plants in Korea, a list of 609 species(including variety and forma) was made from six literatures. There were 54 species of pollen plants. Four species, chestnut, Korean cherry, bicolor bush clover and black locust, were mentioned in all five literatures. Forty-nine species were mentioned in four literatures. A total list of 625 species(including variety and forma), 97 families add to 16 species newly found honey plants. Of total 97 families, the major ones were Rosaceae(67 species), Leguminosae(57), Compositae(57), Labiatae(36), Liliaceae(29) in order of number. This study was investigated to understand the flowering time 408 species honey plants from 2003 to 2007 by observation near Daegu city. Pollen Morphology observed to the Scanning electron microscope(SEM) of 178 species honey plants. Duration Through the year, of 408 honey plants, it was found that 94 species were blooming in June, and 92 species in April, May(66 species), July(60), August(38), March(32), September(21), Octorber(5) respectively. Of total 86 families, the major ones were Rosaceae(45 species), Compositae(38), Leguminosae (32), Labiatae(22), Liliaceae(16) in ordering of number. 215 species(53%) were woody plants and 193 species(47%) were herbaceous plants of total 408 honey plants. The pollen cell unit were mono grain 174 species and compound grains 4 species. The characteristic was many most of Spheroidal shape(100 species), Semi-circular AMB(102), Striate surface sculpturing(52), Middle grain(25~50㎛) size(112) of pollen. An informational Key table made for Pollen anallyses with number of cells, shape, AMB, Aperture, porus, scupture, size of pollens Flowering characteristics of Evodia daniellii Hemsley and foraging activity of honeybees were investigated in 2004 and in 2005 at the Daegu University and obtained following conclusion. Evodia daniellii Hemsley is a hermaphrodite species. Male flowers of E. daniellii bloom early compared with the female flowers. Female flowers bloom one or three days after male flowers' leave blooming. The male flowers bloomed for 20.7 days while the female flowers bloomed for 8.5 days in 2004. The male flowers bloomed for 19 days while the female flowers bloomed for 12 days in 2005. Early blooming trees were 9 , while late blooming trees were 6 in 2004. Early blooming trees were 23, while late blooming trees were 13 in 2005. The early blooming 9 trees in 2004 bloomed early in 2005 compared with last year, while the 3 late blooming trees among 6 trees in 2004 bloomed late in 2005. Foraging activity of honeybees started 7:00 a.m. and ended 7:00 p.m The activity showed two peaks, one in the morning and the other in the afternoon, which was lower than the morning peak. Foraging activity of honeybees started from July 5th to August 29th. This research on 114 trees of Sapium sebiferum (L.) Roxb lining a street Dusan junction, Suseong-Gu, Daegu. We investigated the flowering- date, flowering- period of each tree, and investigated honeybees activity on 23 trees. This tree is monoecious and 2∼4 inflorescence(male flower) bloomed second-flower after primary flowering. The second-flower bloomed 91 trees among 114 trees. A primary-male flower bloomed more longer than the second-male flower did. While primary blooms 25 days, second-male flower does 18 days. 56 days bloomed from June 24 to August 19. Each tree bloomed 40 days in average. Early flowering trees were 10 and late flowering trees were 6. 11 trees bloomed over 50 days. Newly found honey plants were described from 2003 to 2007 by observation near Daegu city. They were Acer buergerianum, Idesia polycarpa, Ilex macropoda, Punica granatum, Potentilla chinensis, Sapium sebiferum, Lirioope platyphylla, Ulmus parvifolia, Hylotelephium spectabile, Sedum rotundifolium, Saussurea pulchella, Orostachys japonicus, Osmanthus heterophyllus. Characteristics and morphology of each plant were described.
