The aim of this study was to analyze the stress factors. Material and Method: 26 stressors item of questionnaire were scored on 5-point scale. Summated score within professional job, working environment(peer-group, patient, dentist) related categories were submitted to analysis of general characteristics by age, marriage status, career, etc. 206 dental hygienist that working in Gwang-ju city. Result 1. The score of 5-point scale of job stress showed prospect and support factors on dental clinic(3.44), patients(3.41), duty factors(3.38), professional role(3.19), interpersonal relationship(2.66). 2. The score of 5-point scale duty stress was the highest on 20-25 years old(p<0.05), normal size dental clinic, not married(p<0.05), 1-3 years work career, and not self supported family. 3.The score of 5-point scale of professional role stress was the highest on 20-25 years old, normal size dental clinic, not married(p<0.05) and 3-6 years work career. 4.The score of 5-point scale of the patients related stress was the highest on 20-25 years old(p<0.05), normal size dental clinic, not married, 3-6years work career (p<0.05) and live with parents. 5.The score of 5-point scale of interpersonal relationship stress was the highest on 20-25 years old, normal size dental clinic, not married, live with parents and not self supported family(p<0.05). 6.The score of 5-point scale of prospect and support related stress was the highest on 20-25 years old, normal size dental clinic, not married, 1-3 years work career, live with parents and not self supported family(p<0.05). Conclusion: These results suggest that stress control of working dental hygienist should be need to manage systematically.
