The present paper is about a research of the effectiveness on undergraduate's emotional well-being through drama therapy. The purpose of this research is to verify the effectiveness about drama therapy by applying the program to the students. Especially to the students who were going under variety of stress as employment stress and about the future attend to have depression, emotional insecurity which appealed to psychological anxiety. I applied this program to twenty sophomore and junior students at the 'D' University in Seoul, Korea. Then I divided them in to two groups of participation group and controlled group and let them process the 'search and recognize' by the 'role-realization - role-exploration - role-aggrandizement'. This procedure was held two times a week to the total of twelve rounds which approximately ended to 1,400 minutes. Before I let them through the program, I did a preliminary examination and then examined their behavior and reaction when the program was applied. After the therapy, I operated the SPSS 12.0 to define the emotional well-being improvement. The initial state of each student who participated the program was appealing psychological anxiety as depression, emotional insecurity and financial stress. They expressed that they were looking forward to their changes after the therapy. Through the drama therapy, students had natural contacts and body expression which led them close to each other. Due to this outcome, each student understood their body, emotion and mind. They have acknowledged what they want, how they feel and think by following the drama therapy techniques. Furthermore, by the process of the 'impromptu play' and 'role play', students have expressed, shared and communicated with their agony. In addition, they tend to find the chance for their self growth which showed their depression, emotional and psychological anxiety to decrease. This process led each one of them to free themselves from the stress they were suffering from. The present research presumption was that the drama therapy program will have effectiveness upon emotional well-being. To verify this presumption, the first hypothesis was that the drama therapy will enhance the students' emotional well-being. The second hypothesis is that the therapy will reduce the students' depression. The third was that the it will change the students' conditional feelings. The last was that the therapy will lower the emotional insecurity. These four hypotheses were verified through the process. To the result, depression, emotional insecurity, conditional feelings, psychological well-being was significantly progressed. This defines the drama therapy program improves affirmative to the emotional well-being. The main significance to the research is that it confirms the drama therapy influences a positive effect to the college students. Furthermore, it establishes to develop and apply the program to elevate the emotional well-being for the students who are exposed and intimidated to psychological health variety of role stress. Through this research, the drama therapy have improved affirmative to the emotional well-being, we should consider developing a program to elevate the emotional well-being hereafter.
