The purpose of this study is to grasp the experience, kinds, periods, types, causes, emergency measures, and treatment prevention of injuries occurring in physical education middle school players and provide basic materials for players and coaches to improve their ports performance and coaching ability. The questionnaire survey was conducted with 310 players for 14 events including athletic sports attending physical education middle schools in G Metropolitan City and C Province and finally, the following results were obtained. 1) The most frequently injured part in physical education middle school players was an ankle, followed by a waist, a knee, a finger, a shoulder, an elbow, the crus, the thigh, the back, and, the chest. Males were injured most commonly and the most frequently injured item was wrestling, followed by athletic sports and taekwondo. The 3rd graders were most frequently injured followed by the 2nd graders and the 1st graders and 2-4-year career showed the most common experience in injury followed by less than 2-year career, 4-6-year carrier, and more than 6-year career. In the analysis of the kinds of injuries in physical education middle school players, the most common skin injury was a vesicle, followed by abrasion, laceration, incision, and frostbite; the most common muscle and tendon injury was muscle stiffness, followed by muscle contusion, myositis, tendon rupture, and muscle rupture; the most common bone injury was bone contusion, followed by periostitis, and fracture; and the most common joint injury was ligament condition, followed by dislocation, cartilage condition, arthritis, and sprain. 2) In the analysis of the periods of injuries in physical education middle school players, winter was the most common injury season followed by summer, autumn, and spring; afternoon was the most common injury time a day followed by morning, dawn, and night; and exercise was the most common injury situation followed by fitness training, game, and warm-up and cool-down. 3) In the analysis of the types of injuries in physical education middle school players, the most frequently injured time during major practice was intermediate, followed by early, later, and warm-up; the most frequently injured part during major practice was a leg part, followed by an arm part, a trunk part, and a neck part; and the most frequently injured part during fitness training was an arm part, a leg part, and a neck part. 4) In the analysis of the causes of injuries in physical education middle school players, fatigue was the most common cause of careless injury followed by a desire for victory, the lack of warm-up, the lack of physical fitness, strain, the lack of skill, and distraction; training intensity was the most frequent cause of injury during training followed by training amount, characteristics of skill, training methods, training frequency, and characteristics of coaches; and a climate matter was the most common environmental cause followed by places to exercise, poor sport outfits, and style of dress. 5) When physical education middle school players were injured, the most common person in charge of emergency measure was coach or director, followed by self, peer players, specialist, neglect, and medical staff; the most common person in charge of treatment was specialist, followed by self, coach or director, and neglect; and the most common treatment method was hospital, followed by Oriental medicine clinic, pharmacy, and bonesetter's office. Also, less than 10 days were the most frequently found treatment period followed by 11-20 days, more than 31 days, and 21-30 days; most players re-participated in a game after injury during recovery, followed by after rest, immediately after injury, and after recovery; the greatest concern by players after injury was declined skill, disturbance of exercise, re-injury, scolding a coach, and extension of player life; and moderate rest was the most common prevention after injury, followed by sufficient rest, warm-up, reinforcement of concentration and mental power, and full knowledge of instruction. Taken together, fatigue and high training intensity was found as major causes of injury in physical education middle school players. Thus individual players should check and deliver their condition quickly to their coaches to prevent injury. Also, since the lack of warm-up and cold winter showed high injury frequency, both coaches and players should do warm-up enough to warm up their bodies for exercise. In particular, as it is cold, warm-up should be done more carefully. When injury occurs, a coach should respond quickly by learning how to take emergency measures and cope with the situation in advance and move playes to the nearest treatment place fitted to player's injury type such as Oriental medicine clinic or hospital, which can reduce the injury duration of players.
