Experiments were conducted to improve analytical clean-up method for residue analyses of neonicotinoid insecticides including imidacloprid, thiacloprid, thiamethoxam, clothianidin and acetamiprid in pine tree using high perfomance liquid chromatography (HPLC). there are lots of hydrophilic and hydrophobic interfering contaminants: in nut pine tree. Therefore, to find out the best method for removing contaminants. throughout extraction, partition, purification step. Korean Food Standards Codex method has been applied, however this method has limitation of low recovery & interference of contaminants. We a new method for multiple residue analysis of neonicotinoid insecticides including imidacloprid, thiacloprid, thiamethoxam, clothianidin and acetamiprid by changing 1)column chromatography elution solvent from dichloromethane:acetone (55:45, v/v) to toluene:acetonitrile (3:1, v/v), 2)SPE matrix from florisil to isopropylamino, 3)EXtrelut elution solvent dichloromethane to ethyl acetate. A new method for neonicotinoid analysis was extraction with acetonitrile : water (80/20, v/v), partitioned by the hydromatrix and ethyl acetate elution, purification by solid-phase extraction (SPE) with NH2 cartridge and toluene:acetonitrile (3:1, v/v) solvent: The recovery ranged 81.9~88.3%. In case of leaves, purified by solid-phase extraction (SPE) using NH2 and FL cartridge and active carbon and acetonitrile elution. The method applied in this study showed more than 80% recoveries for neonicotinoid. This a new improved method was validated by residue analyses of imidacloprid, thiacloprid, thiamethoxam, clothianidin and acetamiprid spray pine tree in the field.
