This study is to contribute a planning strategy for local festival by using "information-experience-story"strategy, based on information design, experience design, and storytelling. This thesis aims to propose the methodical and systematic way to plan local festivals, because almost all local festivals are planning their contents depends on circumstances and situations only.
It is all things for "information-experience-story" strategy that spectators go through a festival. First, information design makes a local festival informative. It helps spectators understand a festival fully and they can make a decision what to see. Next, experience design means setting and planning a festival considering spectators' needs and wants. Experiences of spectators are divided by 8 steps: invitation, welcome, orientation, comfort, communication, sensation, common sense, finale by Stephanie Weaver. The last planning method, storytelling enables contents of festival to be more interesting and attractive. If a local festival takes regional stories, it effects that a local festival get a cultural identity.
The object of analysis by "information-experience-story" strategy, Chuncheon Mime Festival(below CIMF) has been held all over Chuncheon city, since 1989. This festival run an organization working on planning it and is famous as unique concepts focus on young ages.
