This research was performed to analyze the Halophyte Vegetation, Flora and Soil characteristics in Suncheon Bay. For this study, The spot survey was carried out by selecting area which has excellent natural properties and has good forming a Halophyte plants colony from March 2010 to August, 2011. The main result of it are summarized as follows. 1. The results of the survey of halophytes have been identified for a total of 32 taxon, 3 varieties, 29 species, 25 genera and 16 families. and These families include respectively 25% of chenopodiaceae, 13% of compositae. 2. The largest number of Halophyte has been confirmed for a total of 24 taxon, 14 families at st.12(Jangam) and the minimum number of it has been confirmed for a total of 10 taxon, 4 families at st.12(Daepo). 3. Plant communities that are dominant in Suncheon Bay were confirmed as Phragmites communis, a Suaeda japonica, a Scirpus planiculmis, a Suaeda maritima, a Carex scabrifolia, a Suaeda malacosperma, a Vitex rotundifolia. 4. It was analyzed that the dominating plant communities were Phragmites communis, Suaeda japonica, Scirpus planiculmis and with high soil moisture, silt and clay contents in the estuary marsh formed mainly with stream inflowing to Sunchon bay. Suaeda maritima community, Carex scabrifolia community, Suaeda malacosperma community were dominating with various contents of Sand, Silt and Clay in the sand gravel marsh. The Vitex rotundifolia community was dominating in the sand marsh that mainly formed of sand with high in soil acidity and exchangeable calcium.
