In a way of form, Schubert's piano sonatas maintain the traditional sonata form. but progress romantically and freely in the aspect of harmony. The innovative progress of harmony is not revealed freely in his early and middle sonatas. However, in the last three sonatas, the freely used harmony puts perfection. Last three sonatas have four movements and the construction of these movements have the same form and compositional arrangement. In particular, the first movement of three sonatas follows traditional sonata allegro form. In terms of the relationship of thematic tonality, his later sonatas generally show a more traditional form compared to his early and middle ones. And, they pursue in full harmonical color - lyrical melody, a variety of variations of a theme, sudden chord and various signs of chromatic and enharmonic scales - in terms of the flow of music. In conclusion, Franz Peter Schubert's sonatas are filled with traditonal and romantic factors at the same time within his own style.
