Good Balance System(...

The purpose of this study was comparison on the effects of horseback riding exercise and trunk stability exercise and balance exercise on balance ability of normal adults. The subjects of this study were 30 normal adults and they were divided into three groups: horseback riding exercise group(n=10), trunk stability exercise group(n=10), balance exercise group(n=10). Subjects of horseback riding exercise group were selected not to experience horseback riding in order to be less effects on experiments, and all subjects performed twice a week for 6 weeks. They were measured static and dynamic balance ability using Good Balance System (GBS) during pre- and post- exercise. Characteristics of three groups were equal before exercise, and results of this study were there. 1. There were significant differences in three groups about pre- and post- static balance tests(p<.05). 2. There were significant difference in three groups about pre- and post- dynamic balance tests(p.05). These results revealed horseback riding exercise, trunk stability exercise and balance exercise were all effective ways. Horseback riding exercise was not different compared with trunk stability and balance exercises, in addition to be more effective in static and dynamic balance. Therefore, we suggest that horseback riding exercise would be an alternative way such as an effective exercise to improve balance ability. key words: Horseback riding exercise, Trunk stibility exercise, Balance exercise, Static balance, Dynamic balance
