Because of the increase of one-person household, a global phenomenon has been appeared by the family differentiation and change of the traditional values, even in korea, one-person households in the 2000s has been increasing rapidly. Currently the increase in both youth one-person household and elderly one-person household are shown. But, when entering the aging society, the society will increase the middle-aged and the elderly one-person households. The government, according to the one-person household increases, introduced the policy of expanding a small house. As a result, it has been an increase in the quantitative but qualitatively a decline. In addition, elderly housing welfare facilities are supplied in the form of nursing home and welfare housing. However there are short supply compared to the elderly population. The purpose of this study is to provide policy implication about the introduction of share house which is required for housing stabilization for seniors who are gradually increased due to the aging of the population. The share house is targeting the youth now, and I focused on the present share house as one of the housing options for seniors through the interview with the housing-related providers. In particular I examined whether the share house can be residential alternative for one-person household in the future, and therefore what is necessary requirements from the point of view of the provider, and what part is required at the time of introduction of the share house for seniors. The providers thought of the share house positively, and they thought that it is able to contribute to the activation of the private housing rental market. To do this, government’s active support is necessary. The providers think that the requirements for vitalizing share house market are the development of a various types of share house and its contents, and operator’s management. In terms of government support, relaxation of space regulations and other regulations, business's tax system reform, rent support, utility bills support, and software development are needed. For the role of the public and the private, the public should consider the price competitiveness, the development and manager of the program. And the private sector must develop diverse and high-quality products. I suggest the direction of the shares house for one person households as follows: First, conversion of existing housing such as Urban-Life Housing and empty dilapidated house. Second, a variety of options of program and ongoing management. Third, policy support for the expansion of the private market. Although there is the social need for supplying a share house for the seniors, there are some practical difficulties. Considerations for share house for seniors are as follows: room-sharing where many people use one room; operation for the only youth in the target; communication between tenants; monthly rent capacity; disease and posterior measures. I propose that the policy proposals should be as followed: First, supply a single-room share house for closed elderly; Second, Age-Mix with middle-aged one-person household including unmarried, divorced, and goose family; Third, a meal together program and utility bill or food support; Fourth, rent support utilizing residential voucher; Fifth, permission to the occupancy of only healthy senior. Share house may become a one solution of housing problem of one-person household. Particularly the seniors psychologically feel lonely and alienated, so they may need the share house more. On the basis of what has been derived from interviews, I have some suggestions for share house for seniors in terms of the share house most of which has been open to youth. Government should consider the investment incentives for the expansion of the private rental housing market.
