또한 단어단위 분석의 하위 유형으로 단어단위 정확률(Proportion of Whole word Correctness: PWC), 단어단위 복잡률(Proportion of Whole Word Complexity: PMLU), 단어단위 근접률(Proportion of Whole Word Proximity: PWP)을 제시하고 있어 영유아기 아동의 음운능력을 평가하기에 적절하다.

This study conducted a comparison analysis of the phoneme capacities between children with specific language impairment in social age of 3 years old and general children according to whole word analysis. Phonological awareness develops from large to small, which is from word – syllable – phoneme. Considering such development, the whole-word approach that evaluates not as individual tone but as words is appropriate. Moreover, the lower category of whole-word approach is presenting Proportion to Whole Word Correctness: PWC, Proportion of Whole Word Complexity: PMLU, and Proportion of Whole Word Proximity: PWP, so it is appropriate in evaluating the phoneme capacities of children in their early childhood. This study executed 75 assignments (KS-PAPT) of naming pictures, targeting 12 children with specific language impairment in the social age of 3 years old and 14 general children residing in Busan. Based on these results, comparison analysis on group figures, appearing in lower categories of whole-word approach, was held through t-test. The results of this study are the following. First, there were statistically significant differences in the accuracy of phoneme. It was known that the average of whole-word accuracy of general children was higher than the group average of children with specific language impairment. Second, there existed a significant difference between the two groups in phonological proximity. To compare the phonological proximity, PMLU and PWP, which are the lower areas of whole-word analysis, were subjected to comparison analysis. Two areas both showed significant differences between groups, and the average of group of general children showed to be higher than that of the group of children with specific language impairment. Third, the individual difference in the group of children with specific language impairment existed larger than the individual difference in the group of general children.
