This study is an empirical research to define the influences of 'aircraft cabin's physical environment' on cabin crews' 'service orientation' through their 'flight satisfaction', and has its purpose to review each cabin section's environmental condition to be improved to enhance service quality by analyzing physical environment of cabin perceived by cabin crews. For this study, a questionnaire survey targeting cabin crews of K airline with 2 years or more experience was carried out during April 2016, and a total of 380 questionnaires were collected and all used for the analysis as those were regarded as effective. SPSS 18.0 was used for frequency analysis, factor analysis, and correlation analysis, and also multiple regression analysis and hierarchical regression analysis were conducted to verify hypotheses and mediating effects. From a series of exploratory factor analyses carried out for the independent variable 'aircraft cabin's physical environment', 5 sub factors were derived as 'safety environment', ‘spatial environment', 'equipment environment', 'sign environment', 'air/noise environment', and for the mediating variable, 'cabin crews' flight satisfaction', two sub factors were derived as 'in-flight duty satisfaction' and 'customer task satisfaction', and finally for the dependent variable 'service orientation', only one factor was derived. The influences of 'aircraft cabin's physical environment' on 'flight satisfaction' and 'service orientation' were analyzed with the multiple regression and the results were deducted as follows. First, it was proved that all sub factors of 'aircraft cabin's physical environment', namely 'safety environment', ‘spatial environment', 'equipment environment’, ‘sign environment’, 'air/noise environment', had significant influences on 'in-flight duty satisfaction'. And the 'equipment satisfaction' which was work environment uniquely associated with the crews was found to have the highest influential degree while the degree of 'spatial environment' which was the environment largely shared with passengers have the lowest. For the influences of 'aircraft cabin's physical environment' on 'customer task satisfaction', one of the sub factors 'sign environment' did not secure significant level, and the influential level was highest in 'spatial environment', with descending order in 'safety environment', 'equipment environment', and 'air/noise environment'. In other words, the influence of 'spatial environment' which was arranged and shared with passengers when crews prepared and started in-flight service was the highest, while the influence of 'air/noise environment' including cabin air temperature and noise was the lowest. Second, the analysis of influential relationship of 'flight satisfaction' on 'service orientation' proved that both of sub factors, 'in-flight duty satisfaction' and 'customer task satisfaction', had significant influences on 'service orientation'. For the 'flight satisfaction' which might arise in the process of service, 'customer task satisfaction' was found to have a little bit higher influence than that of 'in-flight duty satisfaction' on 'service orientation'. Third, for the influences of 'aircraft cabin's physical environment' on 'service orientation', it was proved that only 'safety environment' and 'equipment environment' factors had significant influences, but 'spatial environment', 'sign environment', and 'air/noise environment' did not secure significant level. Fourth, in the analysis whether the two sub factors of 'flight satisfaction', 'in-flight duty satisfaction' and 'customer task satisfaction' had mediating effects in the influential relationship between 'aircraft cabin's physical environment' and 'service orientation', only the 'in-flight duty satisfaction' was found to have a partial mediating effect on the relationship. Last, a hierarchical regression analysis to define mediating effect of 'customer task satisfaction' proved that the 'customer task satisfaction' had a partial mediating effect on the influential relationship between the two factors, 'safety environment' and 'equipment environment' and 'service orientation'.
