In this research, in order to investigate the influence of forest ecology experiencing activities on the nature-friendly attitude of an infant and the consciousness of respect for respect for life, the following research problem was set up.
1. How will eco-experience activities of the forest affect the infant's nature-friendly attitude 2. How will eco-experience activities of the forest affect the consciousness of young children's respect for life?
The subjects of this study are 40 young children aged 5 years old in H nursery schools and N nursery schools in Seoul City. They are divided by 20people of experiments group and 20people of comparative group. Experiment was conducted in 27 times, experimental group ecological experiences of forest from 28th March to 4th October 2016 for 27 weeks in total, and the comparative group conducted ecological education using picture books during the same period did.
Infant's nature-friendly attitude measurement tool for research used supplemented and revised CATES-PV(The Children's Attitudes Towerd the Environmant Scale-Preschool Version) made by Musser and Diamond(1999), by Yoonjeng Heo(2001) and several complemented "nature-friendly attitude tests" by Kyonghi So(2007) , questionnaire made by (2005) which uses corrected/ complemented according to topic by Youngcheal bae(2003) based on the contents of life repeat early childhood education(Kwon Unju,2000; Gimgy Seung, 2002) for Measurement tool for consciousness of respect for young children's life. Covariate analysis (ANCOVA) was performed using the SPSS 18.0 statistical program to calculate the mean and standard deviation for the evaluation of the effect between pre- and post-tests to verify the problem of the study. The results of this study are summarized as follows. First, it was found that the ecological experiences of the forest affected the promotion of the nature-friendly attitude of the infant. This means that ecological experience activities have positive effect on a subregion of the infant's naturally friendly attitude such as interest in animals and plants and consciousness of lovers, respect for life, more suitable for natural environment than artificial environment, attitude of nature conservation, etc. Secondly, it was found that forest ecology experiencing activities have an effect on the awareness of young children's respect for life. From these results, we can see that the ecological experiences of forests have a positive influence on improving the consciousness of respect for life and the nature-friendly attitude of young children. This suggests that ecological experiences in the forest improve nature-human relations and help understanding of ecosystems.
