The purpose of this study was to determine obstacles gait exercise effect on the balance and gait in patients with Parkinson’s disease. The subjects of this study were 30 patients with Parkinson’s disease in a hospital, located in DAEGU. Subjects were classified using matching design according to Hoehn and Yhar stage scale. Also they were divided into 2 groups, the experimental or control group, and each group had 15 patients. Experimental group performed neuro development treatment and obstacles gait, and control group performed neuro development treatment and general gait. Each group was participated in training for 6 weeks, 5 times per week, and 40 minutes a day. To evaluate balance and gait, Romberg test and Limit of stability(LOS) in Biorescue, Berg balance scale, The timed up and go, 10 meter walking test were used. The statistical analysis paired t-test was used to examine differences in within groups and independent t-test was used to examine differences in between groups after intervention. Both group showed balance and gait were significant improvements(p<.05) in within groups, and between groups significant difference in post test(p<.05). This results suggest that obstacles gait is an intervention method that improves balance and walking of the patients with Parkinson’s disease. Therefore obstacles gait seems to be useful as an arbitration program in patients with Parkinson’s disease.
