As international awareness for children’s right has been changed, it declares that children are the independent existences to have Right to Survival, Right to Development, Right to Protection, and Right to Participation, under UN Convention on the Rights of the Child(UN CRC). Accordingly, Korea also is making an effort for legal, institutional, and political unit to acknowledge children as subject of rights and to ensure right of children, as country concerned of UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. However, it shows that children’s right is not sufficiently ensured. Besides, it is being progressed the study on state of human rights for children in child welfare at government agency and academy, but it is very deficient for study on rights awareness which focused on independence of children. When it occurs the infringement of human rights to children in child welfare, rights awareness of children plays an important role which children recognize them self and other’s right as living subject and act to ensure their rights. Also, rights awareness is the concept to emphasize independence of children, and it plays an significant role for children to function independently and to react infringement of human rights sensitively. Therefore, in this study, it conceptualizes rights awareness of children in child welfare as ability for judgement of human rights, sensitivity of human rights, and self-efficacy of rights-advocacy behaviors, and it reviewed factors to affect rights awareness of children in child welfare, in the light of multisystems ecological perspective. The purpose of this study is to apprehend the level of rights awareness for children by type of child care, and to verify which factors affect rights awareness of children in child welfare. Specifically, we are to apprehend the factors which environmental factor, caregiver factor, and child factor affect rights awareness of children to be protected by facility and home foster. To this end, it has conducted survey, children are 327, caregiver for 243, according to collected data, so data for total 249 persons was utilized to final analysis. The dependent variable is rights awareness(ability for judgement of human rights, sensitivity of human rights, and self-efficacy of rights-advocacy behaviors), and independent variable is environmental factor, caregiver factor, and child factor. In order to verify issue of study and hypothesis, we have conducted analysis of one-way anova and multilevel analysis model, by utilizing Stata SE 15, the deducted result of main analysis is as follows; it shows that number and satisfaction for education for experience of right affect rights awareness of children. It shows that education for rights affects fostering rights awareness of children in existing literature. The protection for privacy in life environment affects significantly rights awareness. To put it concretely, we have found that degree to which parents respect children’s opinion, disclosure for privacy at school, etc. affect awareness of human rights. In accordance with this result, it shows that rights awareness is high, the more human rights-friendly environment surrounding children. It shows that it has high sensitivity of human rights, the more children who belong to group home among type of child care. There is a limitation such as restriction for selection and demand of children, difficulty to secure privacy, lack of private space, and separation from local community, etc., the larger facility. The deducted implication from the result of this study is as follows; First, it can contribute to suggest the specific action to increase rights awareness of children in child welfare and to guarantee rights by dealing with factors which affect rights awareness of children in child welfare, in the fields of environmental, caregiver, and child. Second, this study is meaningful to systematize rights awareness of children in child welfare as judgement for human rights, sensitivity of human rights, and self-efficacy of rights-advocacy behaviors and confirm influence factor by factor of rights awareness. Third, it contributes to provide the basic data to increase protection rights of children and consciousness of rights and to prepare legal, institutional, and political actions, by apprehending effects which affect rights awareness, by each sub-variable of environment, main supporter, and individual children surrounding children in child welfare.
