As the Internet connections and mobile telecommunication technologies have increased dramatically since 1990s, personal media environment and public speech contents such as TED has moved forward significantly in recent years. Active consumption of contents delivered through mobile devices enabled users to instantly provide speech feedback, to rapidly disseminate the contents, and to repeat playback of the contents, which, in turn, made user experience more prominent in the two-way communication environment. This current trend has met the needs of customers who want to promote themselves or companies through various and unique on-and-off speech contents. Individuals have spent their time and money to improve speech ability at a private institution and related books are greatly published. The winning strategy to successfully deliver a persuasive message goes back to Aristole’s rhetoric which has been argued or proven by a body of literature and theories over the years. However, there is a paucity of literature to examine how speakers at a public speech organize their speech in a strategic way and deliver it under the real speech context in Korea. Henceforth, the study aims to explore how famous speakers construct and deliver the speech by analyzing their speech patterns and contents in the TV program, titled “15 minutes to change the world (called ’SEBASI’).” The speech program borrowed TEDtalk format and was first broadcast by CBS (Christian Broadcasting System) in Korea from 2011.
