This Study is a comparative analysis of 10 type of high school textbooks, based on the 2015 educational curriculum, which focused on chorus repertories.
Hopefully, this study can be a guideline for revision of music textbooks in the future.
After choosing the chorus repertories of each textbook, each chorus repertories were subdivided into beat, chord, range, tempo, chorus type, and genre. The analysis results of these is as follows.
First, in the beat classification, four-four time beat rate accounts for 60.94% there are three kinds of textbooks that offer only two types of beats, and even textbooks that show only four-four time songs of the beat.
Second, in the chord classification, C chord is the highest with 26.56%, followed by G chord 20.31% and F chord 14.06% This shows that the smaller the number of marks, the larger the ratio.
Third, in the range classification, lowest note E3 to highest note A5 is shown. Most of the notes from G3 to E5 are used.
Fourthly, in the tempo classification, moderato is the highest with 28.13%, followed by Andate with 17.19%, Allegreto with 15.63% and Andantino with 12.5%.
Fifth, in the chorus type classification, part two chorus is the highest with 42.31%
Sixth, in the genre classification, Classic is the highest with 29.69%, followed by Folk songs with 25%, and Pop music with 23.44%
These results suggest that all the textbooks of each publisher haver prepared the music in the direction of easy access to music. However, it seems that it can not satisfy elements such as 'various beat', 'various scales', 'various chords', 'change of tempo' in the 2015 music curriculum requirement.
Since it is the last opportunity to receive music education as a public education, it is desirable to give more opportunities to learn more difficult music elements by presenting more music in the composition and writing of textbooks.
