SPSS (Statistical Package for the Social Science) WIN 21.0 프로그램을 이용하여 기술 통계, Chi square test, One-way ANOVA(일원변량분석)과 Independent t-test, pearson Correlation(상관관계분석), Hierarchical Multiple Regression(위계적 회귀분석)을 실시하였다.

This study is a narrative research to identify life stress among senior people who senior community centers in local areas, understand the relationship with depression for senior people, and confirm whether family support has moderating effects. Study subjects live in local regions in Seoul and data collected from 204 senior people who use 12 senior community centers were analyzed. Study instruments included stress index, Korean Form of Geriatric Depression Scale(KGDS), and family support device. Questionnaires consisted of 60 questions including 9 on general characteristics, 30 on depression, 13 on life stress, and 8 on family support. PSS (Statistical Package for the Social Science) WIN 21.0 program was used for collected data and descriptive statistics, Chi square test, One-way ANOVA, Independent t-test, pearson Correlation, and Hierarchical Multiple Regression were performed. Life stress were found mean 2.48(±0.81), family support was mean 3.51 (±3.51), and depression was turned out to be 11.30 of 30 points. Educational level(F=9.31, p<.001), spouse(t=-4.02, p<.001), monthly income (t=5.34, p<.001), source of income(F=6.73, p<.001), number of child(ren) (F= 5.96, p<.001), and health condition(F=11.691, p<.001) were variables that showed statistically significant difference in general characteristics and family stress. Spouse(t=2.49, p<.05), source of income(F=3.96, p<.01), number of child(ren) (F=6.19, p<.01), monthly income(t=-2.75, p<.05), and health condition(F=3.12, p<.05) were variables that showed statistically significant difference in general characteristics and family support. Spouse(t=-2.45, p<.05), number of child(ren)(F=4.40, p<.05), monthly income(t=2.55, p<.05), and health condition(F=12.02, p<.001) were showed statistically significant difference in general characteristics and depression. Geriatric depression showed a statistically positive relationship with life stress(r=.44, p<.001), while it showed a statistically negative relationship with family support(r=-.48, p<.001). Hierarchical multiple regression on moderating effects of family support in the relationship between life stress and depression demonstrated that life force was found a variable showing 32.1% of explanation power and that it was not statistically significant(β=-.12, p<.05). Thus, it was found that family support did not function as moderation in the relationship between life stress and depression. In the relationship between life stress and depression of senior people depending on the level of life stress, subjects with low life stress showed 20.4% explanation power thanks to moderating effects of family support. It was exhibited that family support did not play a moderating role in the relationship between life stress and depression. Subject with high life stress showed that health condition, life stress, and family support had significant effects on depression and revealed 32.1% explanation power. As health condition and family support were higher, depression was low. As life stress gets higher, depression was high. In addition, family support functions as moderation in the relationship between life stress and depression. For senior people with high life stress, it was found that depression is moderated under the same stressful situation depending on the degree of family support. Accordingly, it is significant to identify the level of stress of senior people and join with family members or develop programs that emphasize the importance of family support for highly stressful groups.
