This study examined theme park’s event programs, a component of a theme park to which visitors could approach most easily, based on preceding studies, thus working out 6 attributes of theme park’s event programs, such as amusement, education, deviation, marvelousness, experience and convenience. And then this study worked out such 2 factors of theme park’s image as cognitive image and emotional image, thus examining the effect of theme park’s event programs on corporate images and visitors’ re-visit intention. For this, this study used following methods of research: In order to find out the demographic features of study subjects, frequency analysis was conducted. In order to verify the validity and reliability of test scale, exploratory factor analysis was carried out. According to study subject’s demographic features, independent t-test and one way ANOVA were conducted. Study hypotheses were verified through correlation analysis and multiple response analysis. All the empirical analyses were examined at the significance level of p<.05, p<.01 and p<.001. Collected data were statistically processed using the SPSS v.21.0 program. Study subjects were only Korean participants in the event programs of Everland and Lotte World. A questionnaire survey of 350 participants was conducted and the data of 307 respondents were used in study analysis. Study findings are as follows: First, regarding the attributes of theme park’s event programs, the effect of amusement was most powerful, and it was followed by deviation, marvelousness, experience, convenience and education in diminishing order. Regarding demographic feature-based effect, teenagers’ general perception of theme park’s event programs and such sub-variables as amusement, education, deviation, experience and convenience was higher than that of people in their 20s. Regarding study subjects’ schooling, people whose highest level of schooling was high school graduate had higher perception of theme park’s most of event programs and such sub-variables as amusement, education and marvelousness. Second, regarding the effect of theme park’s event programs on corporate images, the effect on cognitive image was higher than on emotional image. However, demographic features had no statistically significant effect on corporate images.
Third, regarding re-visit intention according to demographic features, teenagers’ re-visit intention was higher than that of people in their 20s. In addition, people who were employed in service industry had higher re-visit intention. In conclusion, this study empirically verified the fact that theme park’s event programs have effect on the whole corporate images and visitors’ re-visit intention. This study is seemingly meaningful in that different from preceding studies which focused on theme park’s special event programs it examined theme park’s whole event programs broadly and comprehensively, and classified the attributes of theme park’s event programs into amusement, education, deviation, marvelousness, experience and convenience, thus examining the effect of theme park’s event program attributes on corporate images and visitors’ re-visit intention. However, event programs examined were limited in Everland and Lotte World. In this vein, it seems to be necessary for follow-up studies to conduct empirical researches on other theme park’s event programs. In order for a theme park to be developed more in the future, it is necessary to develop educational event programs which are useful to visitors and from which visitors can acquire diverse knowledge. In addition, it is necessary for a theme park to conduct researches on event items continuously, thus improving its corporate images and achieving the growth of an effective theme park.
