As having revisiting customers at the theme park is both the fundamental aspect and the basis of business operation, It is crucial for theme parks to provide a differentiated experience for customers that is unforgettable and satisfying. In effect, having customers to revisit is what allows continuous management of the theme park to be possible. However, when looking at the current overall leisure markets as well as the domestic theme park markets, due to convergence and advancement of various contents, the boundaries of leisure markets are breaking down and their competitions are intensifying. Thus, the content marketing for the theme parks are more important than ever before; it is necessary for the theme parks to create diversity and bring in heighten the interest of customers. Consequently, only by fully understanding and analyzing the unique features of theme parks and methods of continuous management of changing preferences, will these theme parks survive in the increasingly competitive markets. In general, mechanisms for change management are crucial to combat happenings where the numbers of revisiting customers decrease with the progression of time and increased familiarities. Nonetheless, because hardware investments such as attraction sites are costly, risky, and time-consuming, the process will bring challenges to the theme park industry. For these reasons, it has become a realistic alternative to manage change with software investment, a risk and investing low in scale; and the two most effective ways are festivals and performances. New festivals are held every season, and a variety of performances that suit the atmosphere provide new experiences and enjoyment to customers, allowing them to fully appreciate and enjoy the regular changes in the theme park. In particular, big-scale performances such as multimedia shows, parade shows, and stage shows are becoming more imperative, since they help to attract customers, expand the range of customers, and diversify customers. Yet, although the theme park performances are valuable to many aspects of the business operation such as raising the level of customers satisfaction, revisit intension, the length of stay, and customers’ spending, there are still lacks of relevant quantitative indicators and empirical studies needed for verification. Thus, this study will aim to empirically demonstrate the effectiveness of theme park performances in regards to customers satisfaction, revisit intension, the length of stay, and customers’ spending. This study is a combination of theoretical and empirical research. Primarily, in the theoretical research, the variables of the study are customers satisfaction, revisit intension, the length of stay, and customers’ spending. The surveys were taken by 1,046 visitors at the main gate during the Everland Tulip Festival. After disregarding the 15-outlier data of abnormal values, 1,031 visitors were used for the actual analysis. Statistical analysis of the collected data for this study was done by data coding and analysis using the SPSS Statistics 21.0 Program. Moreover, in order to examine the demographic characteristics of the subjects, descriptive statistical frequency analysis was conducted. Then to investigate whether the attending of theme park performances has directly affected customers satisfaction, revisit intension, the length of stay, and customers’ spending, independent sample t-test (one-way ANOVA) was performed. As the final step, Duncan test was used as the post-test method for valid scrutiny. Correlation analysis and independent sample t-test were conducted to find out the correlations and differences between the attending of theme park performance with the factors of customers satisfaction, revisit intension, the length of stay, and customers’ spending. Next, a simple regression analysis was taken place to thoroughly examines the effects of such activity on visitors plan to revisit the theme park. The results of the study show that having attended the performances in the theme park positively correlates with customers satisfaction and revisit intension. In other words, the visitors who watched performances, as compared to those who didn’t, were likely to revisit the theme park later. Additionally, Results also illustrate that the seeing of performances positively affects the visitors period of duration and spending (amount of consumption). On top of that, research finds out that as the satisfaction rate of the theme park and the revisit intension of the theme park increased, the length of stay and spending also augmented. Although this study is specifically focused on a small subject found at the Everland Tulip Festival (2016), it still provides valid empirical conclusions that can be applied to the business operation of the theme park industry. While there are shortcomings to the study, it can be highly regarded for its quantitative approach. Further research efforts are required to expand the scope of the study; further studies will enable a more precise quantitative index calculation of the correlation between each influencing factor. This study is expected to contribute to the short- and long-term investment planning, as well as building a durable portfolio, needed for a successful operation of the theme park industry.
