Promotion of higher-level thinking such as accumulation, application, analysis, synthesis and evaluation of knowledge can occurs in a flipped-learning environment, and this helps boosting higher-level thinking including problem-solving skills. As learners highly motivated to study participate in a project and cooperatively perform their duties in a flipped-learning process, an authentic flipped learning can take place while accumulated knowledge is applied to practical problem solving. Therefore, this study intends to explore the relationships among self-Self-determination factors, self-efficacy for group work, student engagement in learning and problem-solving skills as study achievement. Based on this, implications related to the factors promoting effective learning in definitional, cooperative, behavioral aspects in a flipped-learning environment are suggested. The hypotheses of research questions are as follows. First, self-Self-determination, self-efficacy for group work and student engagement will influence on problem-solving skills. Second, self-Self-determination and self-efficacy for group work will influence on student engagement in a flipped-learning environment. Third, student engagement will play an intermediary role in influential relationships among self-Self-determination, self-efficacy for group work and problem-solving skills. Fourth, self-Self-determination and self-efficacy for group work will have a positive influence on each other in a flipped-learning environment. A survey targeting companies conducting flipped learning was carried out to verify these questions, and a total of 200 samples were used for the analysis. SPSS 22.0 and AMOS 22.0 were used for statistical analysis, and frequency analysis, Harman's single factor test, confirmatory factor analysis, reliability analysis, descriptive statistic analysis, Pearson's correlation analysis and latent variable path analysis were conducted. Results from them are as follows. First, self-Self-determination and self-efficacy for group work were correlated positively with problem-solving skills in a flipped-learning environment. As self-Self-determination, self-efficacy for group work were proven to have a significant effect on problem-solving skills, problem-solving skills were analyzed to improve when self-Self-determination, self-efficacy for group work and student engagement developed. Second, self-Self-determination and self-efficacy for group work turned out to be correlated positively with student engagement. Considering that self-efficacy for group work and self-Self-determination turned out to have a significantly positive effect on student engagement, it is judged that increase in self-efficacy for group work and self-Self-determination leads to increase in student engagement. Third, student engagement has partial mediation in the relationships among self-Self-determination, self-efficacy for group work and problem-solving skills in a flipped-learning environment. A mediational(indirect) effect of self-Self-determination on problem-solving skills through student engagement appeared to be significant, and self-efficacy for group work had a mediational effect as the effect through student engagement turned out to be significant. In addition, student engagement had a mediational effect since self-Self-determination and self-efficacy for group work were directly effective in problem-solving skills. Lastly, self-Self-determination and self-efficacy for work had a positive effect on each other in a flipped learning environment. The research result shows that self-Self-determination and self-efficacy for group work are important factors to student engagement and problem-solving skills, and those two are crucial to learners' successful flipped learning since people with high self-Self-determination have a high degree of self-efficacy for group work as well. In terms of a proposal for follow-up studies, first, a survey targeting a few companies conducting flipped learning was carried out. There is a need of studies that form samples targeting more various companies or occupations. Second, it is required that the proportion of occupations and of positions are equal to raise reliability of the study results. Third, additional studies targeting people who learn during the same period along with a self-report-typed survey and various ways to collect data such as learning observation and interviews need to be carried out since the process content and duration are not identical.
