Existing oriental medicines are simplified in the dosage form of heating up in hot water, causing dissatisfaction in terms of consumers' convenience. In spite of the development of pharmaceutical technology, there is still a great number of oriental medical institutions that adhere to the pre-modern dosage types and dosage methods. This study was conducted based on the assumption that diversification of dosage forms of oriental medicines in the field of oriental medicine can secure the reproducibility of medicinal efficacy, ensure uniformity of quality, and increase patients' drug compliance. According to the results of the survey, the experienced group took oriental medicine because of the recommendation of parents or friend, disease treatment and prevention, responded inconveniences in must be heated to be eat, flavor and smell, archive and carry. The experienced group showed considerable amount of posiive response toward capsule, liquid, tablet, and injection forms of oriental medicine that have the same efficacy as the traditional boiling form of oriental medicine. When asked about the most preferred oriental dosage form, 47 % chose capsules, and 17.6 % chose liquids, adding up to 64.6 % of the total, placing more priority on their development over tablets and injection forms. On the other hand, a relatively high percentage of 15 % responded that they prefer the traditional boiling form. Therefore, it can be concluded that solutions to imrpove that boiling form can be considered. However, the injection form had low preference than other dosage forms, so it seemed to be inappropriate as an improved form of oriental medicine. Non-experienced group didn’t take oriental medicine because of they are normally healthy, inconveniences in flavor and smell, must be heated to be eat. In all age groups, the dominant opinion was that the flavor of oriental medicine is bad, suggesting a need for improvement in the flavor of oriental medicine. Opinions about preference of oriental medicine form of non-experienced group were similar to those of the experienced group except that the tablet form was preferred over the liquid form. Therefore, when comparing the preference of oriental medicine, it is deemed necessary to develop a new oriental medicine form into capsules, liquids or tablets.
