Most mobile games take a free-to-play revenue model, which allows users to play games for free and generate revenue from in-game purchases. In this revenue structure, user purchase is an important factor directly linked to sales. In the case of new services, it is important to acquire new users, but in the case of ongoing services, existing users account for a majority. Therefore, it is more efficient for service companies to focus more on existing user and create an environment where they can enjoy the game much longer. Therefore, it is important to know the retention of user in advance. Based on this retention, a business strategy that enhances users' play engagement can be developed. In this paper, we classify the remaining lifetime of mobile game users into five groups and predict their retention groups through multi-class classification model. During the 10-day observation period, the model was constructed based on login, purchase, and activity logs in the game. This proposed a measure to predict how long the user would use the service. For the case study, this retention group prediction model was applied to the data of the mobile game currently being serviced. As a result of the experiment, SMOTE+RandomForest combination performed the best. The variables related to login frequency have high predictive influence, along with the number of stage clear failed and game money acquisition-related variables.
