We live in the time. Living in the time means experiencing things, and experiencing is being able to generating memories. We record in order to remember these memories. Our memories can be considered as those still ongoing, but as time goes by, the memories become 'past memories'. This study reviews how we can introspect the anxiety and freedom of human existence by restructuring and expressing 'past memories' visually in the work. I try to say memories of anecdote among many categories of memories. That's because we can't have memories without experiencing. When the experiences that 'I' got through are added to time, the memories become more special when they are recollected. As the concept of time can't be excluded for remembering experiences, we live in the time. This means we exist in 'changes'. Henri Bergson said remembering the 'changes' is the very 'duration'. In the 'duration' memories become images and are conserved. These conserved memories come up to us as pure memories when we live day by day. We live day by day as memories and time from duration are mixed. It is the truth that we live 'the prominent present', but the present becomes the past immediately, so we do sort of Palimpsest 'record' that makes the time of the past in the present life the transcendental time. First, I reviewed images to reconstruct 'past memories' visually. That's because the foundation of visual reconstructing can be images. The communication is induced as our perspectives have the function of effective media called images. I chose signs as a method of the communication. I researched whether the interaction of us who live in the scattering signs nearby and 'past memories' can be juxtaposed. I, the artist, think that this interaction is interacting with other things such as time, memories, reconstructing, existential introspection. That's why the title of all my works is . In addition, by repetition of signs of triangles and rectangles, I express the differences in the visual space. I accomplish juxtaposition of memories by juxtaposing the semiotic elements of triangles and rectangles. This reconstructing can be considered as the ritornello element that makes one arrangement by gathering elements that don't seem to be harmonious, differences and changes. If all of these elements were put in one screen, the screen could be vary heterogeneous space or could look inconsistent. I arrange signs at regular intervals in order to unite the screen with this ambivalent aspect. This ambivalent aspect is not the phenomenon that can be seen only at the reconstructing of images. Our attitude to gain freedom despite anxiety also has the ambivalent aspect. In the 'past memories' are all what I experienced. These experiences are always accompanied with anxiety. This is applied not only to me but also to contemporary people who live in this modern society. Anxiety is generated as we humans exist. If we didn't exist, we wouldn't be anxious. It is indicated that the existence of 'me' has the ambivalence that has existential anxiety and tries to gain freedom by conflicting with past memories. This study was done to make the objective understanding interact with my works to introspect the anxiety and freedom of human existence through how to reconstruct them by 'past memories' visually. I also tried to expand the areas of my works to various fields such as installation and videos rather than limiting them within painting.
