This study examines the current status of the e-commerce market in both Korea and Mongolia, and suggests ways to activate e-commerce in order to improve the problems related to online platform of Mongolia based on Korea's online platform where e-commerce has been successfully introduced. Especially now it is time for Mongolia government, enterprise and consumers to make efforts in order to activate Mongolian Internet commerce and to strengthen national competitiveness. In Mongolia, Internet commerce needs an urgent improvement in many aspects such as small market size, lack of related laws, lack of consumer awareness and electronic system problem. In this regard, the following conclusions are presented in this study. First of all, there is a big difference in statistical data related to e-commerce in both countries. There are plenty of statistical data in Korea related to e-commerce, while in Mongolia, it is yet unclear that the systems related to e-commerce and online shopping are belonging to which government institution. There is no clear government authority over the relevant information. As a result, it is difficult to obtain statistical resources and data on the Mongolian e-commerce market. Next, as for the government policies of both countries, the level of Korea's digital economy is insufficient in e-market place, SNS, and smart media sectors using ICT service and digital platform, but the level of e-commerce development is higher than that of Mongolia uncomparably. However, Mongolia has such strengths as being located in the center of Asia, the high proportion of internet and smart phone users compared to Mongolian population, the technological development in business environment, and the increase of SMEs, and such positive factors are likely to develop electronic commerce. Of course, there are negative factors such as lack of awareness of e-commerce, lack of relevant legal regulations, lack of transportation delivery system, legal factors (cyber crime, financial fraud) and social factors (illegality and corruption). Therefore efforts are necessary in the sectors such as governments, enterprises, and consumers. On the other hand, SWOT analysis of online shopping in Korea G market and Mongol M market shows the current operation level of online shopping in both countries. Mongol M market has disadvantages such as lack of site structure and terms of use, and many problems such as discount, and lack of benefits. Therefore, it is necessary to increase the commercialization and make efforts to establish the corporate environment based on the strengths and experiences of already activated online shopping such as Coupang, Alibaba and Taobao in China, as well as South Korea's G market. Finally, the significance of this study is in grasping the current situation and facts of Mongolia compared to Korea although it is limited in grasping market situation and analyzing related system due to the lack of data related to e-commerce in Mongolia. It seems necessary to research the method for improving e-commerce environment and the strategy for developing e-commerce in Mongolia.
