Korea's cosmetics exports to China including Hong Kong account for 70 percent of cosmetics exports by Korean companies. The concentration of exporting countries is so severe that diversification of exporting countries is necessary. In particular, the recent negative feelings by China on the THAAD deployment in Korea have had a direct impact on the decline in exports and the business environment of the company, which has made Korea's export environment more difficult. Thus Vietnam, as a Post China, has received a spotlight as an alternative to the Chinese market. In particular, cosmetics products that did not benefit from tariff cuts in the existing ASEAN Free Trade Agreement(FTA), tariff cuts due to the signing of the Korea-Vietnam FTA are improving the export environment and lowering entry barriers. Therefore, Korean cosmetics production, manufacturing, and exporting companies should seek various development directions to expand exports to Vietnam. However, Vietnam is a promising market for export of Korean brand cosmetics, but market competition for Korean SMEs is intensifying. Due to factors such as quality credibility, brand recognition and marketing, Vietnamese consumers tend to prefer famous cosmetics in developed countries to their own brands. Among them, Korea is the largest cosmetics importing country in Vietnam and is showing unparalleled growth. However, Vietnam's average per capita income is still less than US$3,000, and local regions have relatively low levels of development in modern retail channels. Therefore, it should be noted that the market competition between the used cosmetics brands is concentrated in some large cities including Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi City. As competition intensifies, marketing strategies and means of publicity that outperform competitors are needed. In order to do this, it will be important to find local partners who can share their roles and collaborate with a medium-to long-term perspective. The purpose of this study is analyed the cases of Korean cosmetics industry 's entry into Vietnam and its difficulties since the conclusion of the Korea-Vietnam FTA. Based on this, it is suggested the plans to entry and draw the implications.
