The purpose of this study is to verify the effects of soccer class using virtual reality(VR) technology on learning attitude and flow of learning of elementary school students. In order to carry out this study, a questionnaire survey was conducted on 120 fifth grade elementary school students in the Gyunggi-do and Seoul. In questionnaire, data on seven participants who did double response, non-response in papers or absence, were excluded from the analysis, therefore data from 113 valid samples were used. This study was divided into a group of applying virtual reality technology and a class of traditional physical education class. The data were analyzed by three way ANOVA. The conclusions of this study were as follow. First, the VR group improved their self-confidence traditional PE group. Second, the VR group was more concentrated than the traditional PE group. Third, the VR group showed more immersion in the physical education than the traditional PE group. Fourth, the VR group improved the integration of the physical education more than the traditional PE group. Fifth, the VR group was more challenging and had the power of control than the traditional PE group. These results show that the soccer class using virtual reality technologies in elementary school has great potential to influence the attitude and flow of learning. In subsequent research, it is necessary to develop and disseminate a variety of virtual reality sports contents and to conduct studies on various grade levels.
