purpose of this study was to investigate the relationships among bone mineral density, physical activities, and nutrient intakes in adolescents. The 5th Korean national health and nutrition examination survey were analyzed using SPSS 23.0 package program. Results showed that bone mineral density was positively correlated with age, weight, height, high intensity physical activity, total physical activity, and strength exercise but negatively correlated with smoking, drinking, carbohydrate intake, and protein intake per body weight. After adjustment of age, height and weight, high intensity physical activity positively affected bone mineral density in adolescents. In addition, adolescents who showed higher bone mineral density than adolescents who did not exercise participated more than 5 days of high intensity physical activity or 3 days of strength exercise. These results indicated that to maintain adequate bone mineral density, adolescent should perform regular high intensity physical activities or strength exercise. Therefore, to increase physical activities in adolescents, we should develop physical education curriculum to make students actively participate. In addition, we should regularly educate students dietary habit life style.
