This study is a similar experiment study using the disparity design before and after the equivalence control, which was conducted to develop the HPV prevention education program based on Ajzen's (1991) planned behavior theory and to verify its effectiveness in order to induce the practice of HPV prevention behavior in university students. The HPV prevention education program based on the planned behavioral theory was developed by the ADDIE Instructional Design Model, which is designed to strengthen the knowledge of HPV and cervical cancer, attitudes about HPV vaccination, subjective norms, perceived behavioral control, and intention reinforcement It consists of educational contents for The subjects of the study were university students who had not received HPV vaccination over 19 years of age at university in C province, and had no education about HPV. The experimental group applied the HPV prevention education program based on the behavioral theory to 32 subjects. It consisted of 5 minutes of introduction, 45 minutes of development, and 10 minutes of theorem. To verify the effectiveness of the HPV prevention education program, HPV vaccine knowledge, cervical cancer knowledge, attitudes to HPV vaccine, subjective norms, perceived behavioral control, and intention were assessed. Data collection was carried out from August 26, 2019 to November 8, 2019.The pre-education survey, the first post-investigation immediately after the training, and the second post-investigation four weeks after the training were conducted in the experimental group and the control group, respectively. Questionnaire was used. The collected data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, t-test, χ2-test, Fisher's exact test and Repeated Measures ANOVA. The results of this study are summarized as follows.
The hypothesis test results of this study are as follows.
1) Hypothesis 1: The test group receiving the HPV prevention education program will have higher knowledge about HPV prevention than the control group than before the control group. The results of HPV vaccine knowledge(t=5.66, p<.001) and cervical cancer knowledge(t=4.13, p<.001), showed statistically significant differences between the experimental and control groups, supporting the first hypothesis. 2) Hypothesis 2: The experimental group receiving the HPV prevention education program will have more planned behavioral theories related to HPV vaccination than the control group before the training. Attitude toward the behavior(T=2.24, p=.032), subjective norms(t=2.83, p=.008), perceived behavioral contro(t=.65, p=13), and intention(t=.91, p<.001). The hypothesis was supported. 3) Hypothesis 3: The experimental group receiving the HPV prevention education program is more likely to improve HPV vaccination intention after 4 weeks of training than the control group. time course (F=14.63, p<.001), and significant differences in the interactions between the population and time course (F=6.95, p=.002), which supported the third hypothesis. 4) Hypothesis 4: The test group who received the HPV prevention education program will have higher practice of HPV prevention behavior after 4 weeks of training than the control group, and the experimental group was 9.4%, (3 out of 32), and the control group 0% (0 out of 34) patients showed no statistically significant differences between the experimental and control groups.
The results of the above study show that the effectiveness of HPV prevention education program in nursing college students increases cervical cancer knowledge and HPV vaccine knowledge, which positively changes attitudes about HPV vaccine and improves subjective norms, perceived behavior control and intention. It has been shown to transition to the action practice stage. Therefore, it was confirmed that the HPV prevention education program can be effectively used to improve the practice of HPV prevention behavior of nursing college students.
