The purposes of this study is to examine the exercise results of the elderly in their participation in sports for all, to conduct the detailed analysis on the medical costs as one of many exercise results, and to find out the related views and implications. To this end, the participants of the study included seven of the elderly who regularly participate in sports for all and three of assistant informants. Purposeful sampling was used for the selection 1of the participants. Qualitative approach was used as the method of the study, and in-depth interviews, statistics, and the collection of related documents were carried out for the data collection for the study. For the data analysis, the study utilized the Six Steps of Qualitative Research Data Analysis suggested by Creswell (2013). The study results were as follows. First, in regards of the exercise results of the elderly in their participation in sports for all, they were shown in the forms of health enhancement, the prevention of chronic illnesses, psychological stability and stress relief, healthy relationships, and closer marital relations. The participants of the study experienced the positive effects of sports for all, through their achievement of better physical health, stabilized mind, and new social networks. Such positive physical and mental changes gained through the participation in sports for all helped the elderly to be more vitalized for their daily lives. Second, in terms of the participation of the elderly in sports for all and their medical cost reduction, the study confirmed that the participants of the study were aware of the exercise could help them reduce their medical costs. Each participant had one or more mild illnesses, which resulted in approximately 1.5 million won (around 1,230 in US dollar) spent for yearly medical costs. By regularly participating in sports for all, the participants showed decrease in the number of their hospital visits, and the medical costs due to their chronic illnesses were also reduced to some degree.
