This study aims to present the effects of adult ADHD-related variables through meta-analysis, focusing on master's and doctoral dissertations and academic journals conducted in Korea under the theme of adult ADHD. To that end, Meta-analysis and Meta-ANOVA were conducted on 42 academic journals and academic papers published in Korea by 2019. The findings are as follows. First, research on adult ADHD-related variables has been carried out steadily since 2007 and has shown a slight increase in 2017. Second, in psychological inner factors, the protective variable group (-0.32) had a medium effect size, and the risk variable group (0.50) had a large effect size. The protection variable group (-0.18) did not have a statistically significant effect size in extrapolative factors, but the risk variable group (0.37) had a medium effect size. Third, among the protection variables associated with adult ADHD, the median effect size was in order (-0.32), cognitive (-0.24), and relationship (-0.19), and behavioral variables did not have a significant effect size. Among the risk variables, emotional (0.50), cognitive (0.46), and relationship (0.41) had large effects in order, and behavioral (0.35) variables had medium effects. Fourth, Meta-ANOVA was conducted to see the difference in effect size according to publication bias, research subjects, and scale, and although the results showed that there was a difference in effect size according to the research object and scale, the publication bias did not show any significant difference. The results of this study have identified the general trend of adult ADHD-related studies, and we hope to present the direction of future research and become the basic data of adult ADHD prevention and therapeutic intervention.
