This research covers the digital transformation of the offline Royal Women's Culture Exhibition. Based on an offline exhibition where a specific brand has communicated with the public and has contributed towards making known the value of cultural heritages, the purpose of this research is to examine actual cases of how the brand has utilized the corresponding information on cultural heritages under what concept as well as how it has contextualized them as the converging topic of their exhibition. Also, this research, through digital curation of the contextualized exhibits, will provide examples of associated knowledge in addition to the information selected to cater to the context of the exhibition or to the information that cannot be observed at offline exhibitions. Furthermore, the study reviews the potential of digital exhibitions that are effective in contact-free environments, sustainable, and expandable through digital curation of offline exhibitions. The subject exhibition of this research is the Royal Women's Culture Exhibition hosted by LG Household & Health Care's brand The history of Whoo (hereafter referred to as Whoo) in 2019 at Kyeongbokgung and Changdeokgung Palaces. This research has examined the features and limitations of offline exhibitions and has digitalized all specific aspects of exhibitions for the purpose of digital transformation of the offline exhibition. Through the digitalization process, mapping out of the ontology as well as building of the database have been accomplished. Visualizing the semantic data and the task of presenting a feasible contents service scenario though digital curation have been performed based on the built database. The significance of the digital curation of the offline Royal Women's Culture Exhibition lies in being able to overcome the limitations of only being able to map out the contents to the simplest level due to space-time boundaries, safety issues, and the diversity in viewers. Because there are no limitations in space in a digital environment, the host's intended planning components can be fully explained, information that could not be fully displayed offline can be expressed, and associated information that were not implemented in the exhibition because of concept or intention purposes can be connected and the dispersed information can be provided comprehensively. The result of digital curation can either become an aid towards finding various network of information by the user or a platform for closely searching for wanted information. This research has provided an academic model that could be utilized and expanded as educational and research data from an academic perspective while seeking the re-utilization and expansion of contents through building of a database and the provision of online services of the semantic data. The achievements of the offline exhibition, made possible through the investment of finances and budget by utilizing various cultural heritage information, do not have to end up being a temporary event in the commercial sector.
