연극놀이 언어치료 프로그램이 화용결함이 있는 쌍둥이의 사회적 의사소통 기술에 미치는 영향 A Study on the Influence of Drama Play Speech Treatment Program on the Social Communication Skills of Twins with Pragmatic Deficit원문보기

Successful communication with others is required to maintain positive relationships, and communication skills begin in different ways and forms from a very early stage after birth and becomes developed. However, children with developmental language disorder struggle to keep their order while they communicate with others due to the deficit of pragmatic competence and it is also difficult for them to select the right words in consideration of the subject whom they are talking to or respond properly in the context, so they fail to communicate. The restraints in communication skills make it difficult to interact with peer groups, so it brings difficulties in forming positive relationships with peers. Accordingly, this study intended to investigate whether conducting drama play speech treatment program on twins with pragmatic deficit leads to changes in social communication skills, and the research questions are as follows. First, does the drama play speech treatment program improve the non-verbal communication skills of the child with pragmatic deficit? Second, does the drama play speech treatment program increase the verbal communication skills of the child with pragmatic deficit? The research targets are binovular twins with pragmatic deficit residing in Gyeongnam Province. For the experiment method of this study, pre-post test design method was applied, and the social communication skills before and after the program were evaluated. In case of the social communication skill, the checklist designed by the researcher was used, and it was classified into non-verbal and verbal communication skills and the subcategory details were set up. The analysis result can be arranged as follows. First, the drama play speech treatment program improved the non-verbal communication skills of the children with pragmatic deficit. All 4 of the participants showed an increase in the use of non-verbal communication skills in free play situation, and there were differences between the subcategories. There were differences in changes depending on the child for the skills like the use of physical body, making facial expressions, and eye contact, but all 4 participants showed an increase in the use of behavioral response. Second, the drama play speech treatment program improved the verbal communication skills of the children with pragmatic deficit. All 4 of the participants showed an increase in the use of verbal communication skills in free play situations, and there were differences in the subcategories. There were differences in changes depending on the child for skills like making demands and asking questions, but all 4 participants showed an increase in the use of information provision and responding. The research findings proved an increase in the appearance frequency of non-verbal and verbal communication skills, and this identified that drama play speech treatment program is a useful way to improve the social communication skills of children with developmental language disorder. It is anticipated for this study to be applied as a method to improve the communication skills for children with pragmatic deficit in further clinical settings.
