The Effect of Job-seeking Stress on Depression among Job-seekers-Focussing on the Meditation Effect of Self Acceptance and Self-understanding원문보기

The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between job-seeking stress and depression and at the same time though this relationship to verify the mediation effect of self acceptance and self-understan as psychological resources that relieve depression. We conducted an offline survey of 120 undergraduates, university graduates and graduate students living in Daegu or attending Universities in Daegu and collected the data. Subjects consist of those who didn’t have full time job except for interm ittent part-time job and their average age group 23.15. Statistical analysis, Pearson’s correlation analysis, and multiple regression analysis were performed using SPSS ver. 25.0 program. In addition, according to the propo sal of Baron & Kenny(1986), a three-step mediation effect analysis was conducted. Finally, Bootstrapping was performed to verify the statistical significance of the mediation effect. As a result, first, there was a significant correlation across the entire variable. Second, the study examined mediation effects of the self acceptance on the relationship between job-seeking stress and depression and found that the self acc eptance had mediation effects between them. That is, job-seeking stress had indirect effects on depression via the self acceptance as well as direct effects on it. Third, the study examined the mediation effects of the self-understanding on the relationship between job-seeking stress and depression and found that the self-und erstanding had mediation effects between them. That is, job-seeking stress had direct effects on depression via the self-understanding as well as direct effects on it. In conclusion, when job seekers are stressed over job-seeking, their level of self acceptance and self understanding increases, leading to decreased depression, it proved that as a way of intervention for job seekers experiencing depression due to job-seeking stress, it is necessary to inspire self acceptance and self-understanding.
