The purpose of this study is to provide basic data on group art therapy dissertations conducted in schools for elementary school students and to present the direction of the research by analyzing 117 group art therapy related dissertations for elementary school students for the last ten years, from 2011 to 2020. The subjects were classified according to year of publication and research type, research subjects, research problem, research methods, program real area. To find out the research trend, the frequency and percentage were calculated and statistically processed. The results of this study are as follows. First, more than 10 collective art therapy studies have been conducted every year for elementary school students over the past 10 years, except in 2014 and 2020 when COVID-19 was prevalent. By degree, all but two of them were master's thesis, and experimental research was conducted the most. Second, the characteristics of the study subjects were more than environmental factors, and among the individual factors, the most studies were conducted on general students than those in need of treatment and improvement. The group types were in the order of grade integration, class groups, and class units, with the largest number of grades being selected across all grades, For two grades, grades 1-2 were the most, and grades 4-6 were most common for three grades. Most of the participants were mixed, and the number of Third, the current status of each research topic was self-growth, psychological and emotional stability, social growth, cognitive and behavioral changes, stress management, maladjustment, and problem behavior improvement. Fourth, in the research method, pre-post statistical verification design was the most, and the data processing method of the research result was in the order of integrated analysis, quantitative analysis, and qualitative analysis. As for the qualitative analysis method, diagnostic drawing, observation and evaluation records, student testimonials and reports were widely used. As for the diagnostic drawing used in qualitative analysis, the Kinetic School Drawing (KSD) and the kinetic house-tree-person(K-HTP) were most commonly used. Fifth, composite programs were the most common types of programs in practice by program, with 11-13 sessions, 1 session per week, 60 minutes per session, after-school hours, general classrooms, and external lecturers the most. Among the program techniques were self-exploration, collaboration, clay techniques, imagination techniques, free association, emotion techniques, and praise techniques. Based on the results of this research trend analysis, we hope that collective art therapy in schools will be a useful tool for personality education, bullying, violence prevention, and student psychological counseling.
