Recently, the use of delivery applications has increased due to COVID19 and the increase in single-person households. Therefore, this study aimed to explore whether there is a difference depending on the nutritional education experience, health interest, and nutrition quotient (NQ) for adults when selecting food using delivery applications. An online survey was conducted with 400 university students in Seoul who had experience in purchasing food using delivery applications. First, university students with nutritional education experience had higher health interests than those without such experience (3.43, p<0.001), and the NQ for adults, which is an indicator for desirable eating habits, was also significantly higher (54.72, p<0.001). Economic feasibility, service quality, nutrition, and reliability were investigated as factors for selecting food. Among these factors, when selecting food, women considered reliability more than men, students living in dormitories considered nutrition more than those living with their parents, and underweight students considered reliability more than overweight and obese students. As a result of correcting gender, residence type, and body mass index (BMI), which affect food selection attributes of these delivery applications, university students with experience in nutritional education considered the nutrition while selecting food using delivery applications than those without such experience. Results revealed that the higher the health interest and NQ for adults, the more they considered nutritional aspects when selecting food using delivery applications. This study showed that nutritional education experience leads to an increased consideration of nutritional aspects when selecting food using delivery applications. In addition, it was verified that the higher the health interest and NQ for adults, the more they considered nutritional aspects when selecting food using delivery applications. Therefore, it is necessary to suggest the importance of nutritional education and future direction in the modern era where food purchases using delivery applications are increasing.
