KTOP을 활용한 좋은 과학 수업 실행에서 과학교사의 어려움 및 해결방안 분석 Analysis of Science Teacher’s Difficulties and Solutions in Practicing Good Science Teaching using KTOP원문보기

In this study, using KTOP (Korean Teaching Observation Protocol), science teachers' perceptions of the importance, degree of execution, and difficulty of KTOP items were investigated. Through this, it was possible to extract KTOP items that were important in science teaching but had a low degree of execution due to difficulties in implementing them. We asked what the specific difficulties and solutions of the extracted items were. Responses were classified according to response characteristics, and response sets re-classified into categories and items were analyzed. As a result of the survey, science teachers recognized that the implementation of 30 KTOP items was important for good science teaching. Also, it was confirmed that the degree of execution and the high and low levels of difficulty depend on the characteristics of the KTOP items. By analyzing the 13 extracted KTOP items, difficulties in implementation were categorized into teachers, students, and curriculum, and it was found that these three categories should interact for a good science teaching. In particular, as the student category accounts for a large proportion of difficulties, it can be said that students' active attitudes and backgrounds (basic academic background, etc.) are important for implementing the KTOP items. Regarding the solution to the difficulties of the 13 KTOP items, the teacher category was the most common, and the student category was the least. Through this, it was confirmed that Science teachers have interest in their professional improvement and efforts and a will to implement. It is expected that practical and concrete support and efforts for good science teaching methods will be made with this research.
