As the traditional perception of childcare changes, there has been a consensus that the government, society, and institutions should be responsible for infant rearing and education with parents, and childcare services that emphasize social and national responsibilities are required. Infants and toddlers receiving childcare at daycare centers spend much time with childcare teachers while looking at the conditions and environments for safe and respected childcare for infants is insufficient. Cases in which the fundamental rights of infants and toddlers are violated due to physical, mental, and sexual violence against infants or abuse, corporal punishment, and poor school meals are constantly being accused in the media. Cases of infant abuse in daycare centers, frequently known in the media, are a serious human rights violation for children, and at the same time, it is necessary to reflect on the intrinsic values, such as the philosophy and beliefs of child care as a teacher. One of the essential topics to improve the quality of childcare can be said to be childcare that respects the rights of infants and toddlers. Respecting infants' rights means recognizing that infants are protected and the subjects of childcare that should be respected, guaranteeing and improving infants' right to survive, development, protection, and participation, and supporting infants to grow and develop healthily. Childcare teachers are the primary ones responsible for performing childcare that respects the rights of infants and toddlers, and the most critical factor directly affects the respect for the rights of infants and toddlers. Childcare beliefs are a vital concept that determines the quality of childcare and influences the entire process of teachers' recognition, judgment, and behavior as the driving force of the inner power of childcare teachers. Childcare teachers' childcare beliefs have a significant influence on their judgment, planning, and execution and are reflected in decisions such as interaction with infants to determine the direction of the childcare process. Research on job satisfaction that affects the improvement of teachers' qualities in enhancing the quality and effectiveness of rights-respecting childcare has also been continuously conducted. The job satisfaction of childcare teachers is related to the quality of childcare services, and if childcare teachers are satisfied with their jobs, they have a positive attitude toward infants and children and increase their work efficiency. When a childcare teacher is satisfied with his or her job, he or she will participate in childcare activities more diligently, which can be assumed to affect the childcare attitude that respects the rights of infants and toddlers. Considering the importance of the role of childcare teachers in respect of rights, it is necessary to analyze the mediating effect of job satisfaction of childcare teachers in more depth and seek feasible improvement measures from various angles. In this study, the causal relationship between childcare teachers' beliefs and rights-respecting childcare is revealed, and the mediating role of job satisfaction, a psychological mechanism, in the relationship between them is to be revealed through research. Through this, it is intended to contribute to presenting meaningful discussions for respecting the rights of childcare teachers. The purpose of this study was to investigate the mediating effect of job satisfaction in the effect of childcare teachers' beliefs on rights-respecting childcare. In order to achieve this, a survey was conducted on childcare teachers at daycare centers in the metropolitan area as a random sampling method. After a preliminary survey, 328 questionnaires were finally analyzed. A theoretical framework was established based on previous studies related to the main variables of this study, and the relationship between variables was verified through empirical analysis. The data analysis was analyzed using the SPSS 12.0 program, a statistical package, and the data analysis method of this study is as follows. First, frequency analysis was conducted to understand the general characteristics of the study subjects. Second, for the reliability verification of the questionnaire, Cronbach's Alpha value was calculated using the internal consistency analysis method, which is a reliability measurement method based on the average relationship between items for the exact measurement. Third, prior to regression analysis and mediating effect verification, Pearson's correlation analysis was conducted to identify the degree of relevance between significant variables and to examine whether there is room for multicollinearity. Fourth, the effect of child care belief sub-factors maturity, activism, and interactionism on job satisfaction and rights respective childcare was analyzed by multiple regression analysis, and the mediating effect of job satisfaction was verified by Baron and Kenny (1986). The results of the mean difference test of significant variables according to this study’s demographic and sociological characteristics are summarized as follows. First, the higher the teacher's age, the lower the maturity and activism childcare beliefs according to the demographic and sociological characteristics of childcare teachers. The difference in childcare beliefs according to the type of facility working was statistically significant only in activism and interactionism. There was no statistically significant difference in childcare beliefs according to work experience, and there was only a statistically significant difference in interactionism in the difference in childcare beliefs according to the level of education. Job satisfaction according to demographic and sociological characteristics differed significantly in the job itself and the working environment according to age. There were significant differences in job satisfaction according to work experience in the job itself, social recognition, and work environment. In addition, the difference in job satisfaction according to the educational background of childcare teachers was statistically significant in terms of work environment and remuneration. In terms of the job itself, social recognition, work environment, and remuneration, there was a statistically significant difference between the job itself and remuneration. There were statistically significant differences in respect for rights according to the demographic and sociological characteristics of childcare teachers, such as age, facility type, work experience, owner qualification, position, daily work, respect, and child best interests in the class in charge, and only child best interests were statistically significant. Second, as a result of analyzing the effect of childcare teachers' beliefs on rights-respecting childcare, maturity, activism, and interactionism were found to have a positive (+) effect on rights-respecting childcare in each analysis model. According to the regression analysis coefficient value, it was found that interactionism (.424) had a higher beta value than behaviorism (.131) or maturity (.310). It can be analyzed that it is more recommended to apply it with a focus on the interactive child care belief to promote respect for the rights of infants and toddlers. Third, as a result of analyzing the effect of childcare beliefs on job satisfaction, maturity, and interactionism were found to have a positive (+) effect on job satisfaction, but activism was not statistically significant. These results show the importance of maturity and interactionism in childcare beliefs because job satisfaction increases when childcare is executed in daycare centers based on maturity, and interactionism. It can be assumed that activism in childcare beliefs affects the perspective of infants and toddlers subject to childcare,anddoesnotaffectthepositiverelationshipof'giveandreceive'byrecognizingthechildcareteacheritselfasaone-sidedmessenger. Fourth, as a result of regression analysis of job satisfaction on rights-respecting childcare, it was found that job satisfaction had a positive (+) effect on rights-respecting childcare. In other words, it was confirmed that the higher the overall score of job satisfaction, the higher the daily work and respect for infant rights and the best interests of children, and the higher the job satisfaction of childcare teachers, the higher the proper respect and childcare. Therefore, specific and practical improvement measures are required to increase job satisfaction, such as the working environment and childcare teachers’ treatment, to further improve the respect for the rights of infants and toddlers. Fifth, as a result of analyzing the mediating role of job satisfaction in the relationship between child care beliefs and rights respect childcare, a statistically significant positive (+) mediating effect was found only in the path of maturity-job satisfaction-right respect childcare and interactionism-job satisfaction-right respect childcare. On the other hand, no statistical significance of job satisfaction was found in the path of activism-job satisfaction-right respect childcare. However, the higher the activist child care belief, the higher the direct effect of respecting the rights of infants and toddlers, so a more complex interpretation is required. The implications derived from the analysis results of this study are as follows. First, this study attempted to clarify the mediating effect of job satisfaction in the effect of childcare teachers' beliefs on rights-respecting childcare. As a result, it was demonstrated that the influence of job satisfaction was different in that it partially mediated positive effects in the relationship between maturity and interactionism among the sub-factors of childcare beliefs. Applying this to the field means that to increase the level of job satisfaction and strengthen the respect for the rights of infants and toddlers, childcare belief education on maturity and interactionism should be thoroughly conducted first. Second, the development of training programs that strengthen and encourage education and practice of maturity and interactionism in the training process of childcare teachers should be preceded. Efforts are required to strengthen and make education on childcare beliefs mandatory from the time of teacher training by reflecting the voice of on-site childcare teachers, the actual condition of childcare, and the need. Third, it is to develop a more realistic plan to increase the job satisfaction of childcare teachers. To this end, it is necessary to comply with childcare teachers’ welfare and remuneration standards. Currently, institutions that ignore the remuneration standards of childcare teachers and force them to work in poor conditions are often found. This is a problem that must be solved systematically and is considered to be the most basic treatment to improve the quality of childcare. It is also necessary to improve the social awareness of childcare teachers. Considering the relationship between job satisfaction and rights-respecting childcare, childcare teachers need constant efforts and self-development to raise professional awareness and job satisfaction within social support and encouragement. The state and society should improve support policies for childcare teachers in various aspects. Fourth, the activist child care belief was not a factor that increased job satisfaction but positively affected infant rights, respect, and childcare, so a careful approach is needed. Childcare with respect for rights is likely to increase based on the activist child care belief, but it shows a blind spot that the child care teacher's job satisfaction cannot be considered together by failing to pass through job satisfaction. In this respect, providing more detailed counseling or management regarding job satisfaction for teachers with activist childcare beliefs seems necessary. The limitations of this study and suggestions for subsequent studies are as follows. First, in selecting samples for research subjects, the scope of research is limited to some areas of Seocho-gu, Songpa-gu, Gwanak-gu, Seoul, Hanam-si, Gyeonggi-do, and daycare centers in some areas of Seongnam-si. Since then, it is necessary to expand the scope of the study subjects to more childcare institutions nationwide, and further research that can be compared with the results of this study needs to be continuously conducted. Second, the sample selection institutions of the study subjects were limited to daycare centers. Therefore, it is hoped that future research will be conducted so that variables that may affect the research results, such as the type, operating entity, and size of the institution where childcare teachers work, can be stratified, sampled, and compared. Third, various verifications of the parameters were not performed by verifying only job satisfaction as parameters in the relationship between childcare beliefs and rights-respecting childcare of childcare teachers. It is hoped that follow-up studies on various parameters that can explain the influence relationship between childcare beliefs and rights-respecting childcare will be conducted. In particular, since the mediating effect of the activist childcare belief was insignificant, it should be considered that only the mediating effect of job satisfaction was partially significant, limited to maturity and interactionism. If additional research on this is conducted and compared with the results of this study, richer implications for the relationship between childcare beliefs and rights-respecting childcare can be obtained.
