This study is phenomenological experience research aimed at taking an in-depth approach to the elements of online group art therapy experience of female cancer survivors in their 30s and the meaning of the experience. This study was based on the standard of the National Cancer Center to determine cancer survivors and selected 5 female cancer survivors in their 30s who finished surgical procedures, chemotherapy, and radiation treatment and conducted online group art therapy with ten 90-minute sessions once a week by using a video communication system. The collected data were analyzed according to Colaizzi's phenomenological method with 7 stages of analysis procedures and the derived research results are as follows. First, 18 sub-themes and 7 major themes were identified as the components of the online group art therapy experience of female cancer survivors in their 30s. The components deduced as the major themes were 'crisis and anxiety encountered in the 30s,' 'expression of suppressed feelings,' 'confronting and looking into the self after experiencing cancer,' 'sympathy and comfort by the group members,' 'accept the cancer experience and the self as an individual who experienced cancer,' 'the course of recovering life through art therapy,' and 'jewel-like online art therapy.' Second, it was verified that the meaning structure of online group art therapy experience of female cancer survivors in their 30s began with cancer, a 'traumatic experience,' and three meanings like 'confrontation of reality and self-understanding, 'catharsis experience,' and 'perception of intrinsic and extrinsic support resources' are in a dynamic relationship with mutually close effects. Likewise, the mutual dynamism of these three meanings enabled the 'acceptance of cancer experience' and ultimately functioned as a foothold for the research participants to 'return to their daily life and society.' The online group art therapy environment lessens the burden about the external appearance, an aftereffect of chemotherapy, and lowered the psychological threshold, and the cohort group with only females in their 30s ensured a safe treatment environment. Based on this, the research participants frankly opened up and confronted their psychosocial pain like social dislocation and isolation and traumatic experiences as women in their 30s and accepted their efforts to look like healthy women in their 30s together with their cancer experience. In conclusion, the online group art therapy experience is concluded as a meaning of 'growth followed by trauma' where the participants recover their identity as women in their 30s and carry out various social roles instead of being discouraged by the traumatic experiences with cancer and prepare to take another leap to their daily life and into the society. This study is significant in that it identified that cancer experience could vary depending on the life stages and lays a fLoundation of art therapy to help female cancer survivors in their 30s recover their daily life and return to society and explored the applicability of online group art therapy for cancer survivors.
