The purpose of this study was to verify the mediating effect of self-regulation in the effect of usage time on prosocial behavior among smartphone usage of infants. The subjects of the study are 245 infants aged 3 to 5 who are enrolled in daycare centers and kindergartens located in Seoul and Gyeonggi-do. Lim Sun-young (2013) revised and supplemented the smartphone usage questionnaire developed by Kang Geum-sik (2006), and Seo So-jung (2006)'s scale, which reconstructed the pro-social behavior scale of infants Kim Young-ok(2003) in a simple format, was used to measure pro-social behavior. For the self-regulation of infants, Lee So-young (2007) reconstructed the scale of infant self-regulation produced by Lee Jeong-ran (2003) for parents. The collected data were analyzed with the SPSS 12.0 program. First, frequencyanalysis was conducted to find out the general characteristics of the research subject, and the Cronbach's α was calculated to measure the reliability of the research tool. Second, the average and standard deviation were calculated to examine the general trends in smartphone usage, pro-social behavior, and self-control, and a one-way variable analysis (ANOVA) was conducted to find out the difference in usage time (average time and frequency) according to smartphone usage. Third, Pearson's proper correlation coefficient was calculated to examine the correlation between infant's smartphone usage time (average usage time, frequency of use), self-regulation, and prosocial behavior. Fourth, in order to examine the mediating effect of self-regulation on prosocial behavior of infants (1 average usage time, frequency), a mediating effect analysis was conducted according to the three-step analysis procedure proposed by Baron and Kenny (1986), and bootstrapping was performed using SPSS PROCESS Macro Model 4 proposed by Hayes (2013). The results of this study are summarized as follows. First, the overall trend of children's smartphone usage was most often used every day, most of them were used within an hour on average once, and most of them were used from dinner to sleep. As for the types of activities, watching videos was the most common, and the number of infant apps installed was 1 to 3, and they were mainly used with their mothers. The most common method of determining whether or not infants use smartphones was coordinated by their children and parents according to the situation, and the reason why parents allowed infants to use smartphones was because of learning factors. As a result of examining the difference in the average time of use of a smartphone for infants, it was found that infants used it whenever they wanted, more than parents used it according to the rules they made together, and more often used it for infants' learning. As a result of examining the difference in the frequency
