It is an open fact that the demand for AI education is high in line with the era of the 4th industrial revolution. AI4K12 (The Artificial Intelligence for K-12 Initiative) presents learning goals for elementary and secondary students based on five big ideas (perception, expression and reasoning, learning, natural interaction, and social impact), and content composition suggests a social and ethical consideration of AI system development. In Korea, the contents of the AI curriculum were composed of 'understanding AI, principles & utilization, and social values'. The 2022 revised curriculum general draft also defines A digital basic literacy as essential for students and includes AI as an important factor. Demand and demand for AI education classes are increasing, but AI education-related programs or teaching and learning materials that cover three areas that can be used in the educational field are insufficient. In particular, elementary school students need to increase their interest and value in AI because they learn AI for the first time and proceed for a long time. Considering learner characteristics, this program focused on affective areas such as recognizing the value of AI, increasing interest, and continuing learning with the goal of the program. This influenced the selection of effectiveness variables, and it was selected by placing importance on the affective domain rather than the cognitive domain. As for the effectiveness variable, AI value recognition, AI learning efficacy, and AI learning persistence were first combined and set as AI learning attitudes. Next, Grit was set up to persistently challenge AI projects and examine the determination and growth mindset that do not give up. Finally, AI ethics was established to examine whether the understanding of AI ethics and social influences are understood based on data such as dealing with AI ethics in social values. This paper aims to develop and analyze AI convergence education programs (AI learning attitude, grit, AI ethics, and gender differences) that include all AI understanding, principles & utilization, and social values for elementary school students. Through this, I would like to help design future teaching and learning methods. The research method was conducted through the stages of analysis, design, development, execution, and evaluation based on the ADDIE model, which is a traditional instructional design model, and effectiveness analysis was conducted through program pre-post verification. In the analysis and design stage, the achievement standards of the 2015 revised curriculum were analyzed, and the subjects (practical, Korean, art, music, morality) and achievement standards that can be fused to the project were analyzed. The program period was set for a total of nine weeks from May to July, and consisted of 17 sessions (6 sessions for AI understanding, 5 sessions for AI principles & utilization, and 6 sessions for AI ethics). In order to provide sufficient activity time and allocate a lot of time to this activity, the second block class was planned. In the development stage, the contents of the program were specified. Each module was composed of modules to evenly learn AI understanding, AI principles & utilization, and AI ethics. As a result of previous studies, a program that dealt with only each element of AI education was identified, but it seemed rare to modularize each of the three elements into a single program. The programs necessary for the relevant class were based on AI textbooks issued by the Ministry of Education. Based on this, instruction plans and activity sheets for teaching and learning courses that can be used in the actual educational field were developed. The developed program was revised and supplemented through consultation with faculty and teachers. The program was applied to 22 fifth graders (11 men and 11 women) in H elementary school in Yongin City, and project pre-post effectiveness (AI value recognition, AI learning efficacy, AI learning persistence, grit, AI ethics, and gender difference) was derived. The discussion based on the research results obtained after applying the program is as follows. First, as a result of analyzing the pre-post survey conducted on participating students, the program developed in this study had a positive effect on improving AI learning attitudes (AI value recognition, AI learning efficacy, and AI learning sustainability) and confirmed the possibility of educational use. This suggests that the program had a positive effect on the affective domain of students. The regrettable part is that male (3.06) and female (2.95) out of 5 points were shown even though they increased significantly before and after AI learning efficacy. It is interpreted that AI learning efficacy shows the possibility and need to improve through continuous AI learning. Second, this program and grit did not obtain significant results, but it is necessary to study factors such as growth mindset set and persistence, which are detailed elements of grit, and to study by setting the experimental period differently. If an AI convergence program based on this is developed, sufficient possibilities are expected. Third, the pre-post survey of AI ethics showed a significant improvement, and the effectiveness had a positive effect. As a major activity, a program consisting of understanding the relativity of AI ethics using moral machines and discussing the pros and cons of autonomous vehicles was conducted. It was analyzed that there was active participation of students in the class on relativity of AI ethics, and great effectiveness appeared. Based on this, it suggests the possibility of educational use of AI ethics programs. Fourth, looking at the differences between genders, it can be seen that the average value of male students is high in most areas, but there is no significant difference. However, there was a significant difference in AI value recognition measured after death. In previous studies on AI effectiveness, there are cases where the difference between men and women was significantly found, and there are studies that show that it gets worse when it goes up to used lights. Therefore, education needs to be conducted so that the gap does not widen from elementary school. Since the difference was reduced after the program, it was possible to reduce the difference in the affective domain of male and female students in the AI convergence program. The results of this study provide the following implications for the planning and initiative of the AI convergence education program. First, we propose to put all three areas of AI in the program development process. When it goes beyond AI understanding, AI principles & utilization, and AI ethics, students' AI terms have become abundant and are used in their daily lives. When the three areas were modularized and learned, awareness of the learning area increased and active participation in learning was influenced. Second, it is proposed to plan to provide sufficient activity time. Negative emotions can be conveyed to students when teachers are pressured by time. In this way, students can focus on completing the results rather than happily participating in the program. It seems necessary to secure sufficient activity time to compensate for this point. We propose a second block class to allocate more time to this activity than to pre-activity. In the case of the first class, the ratio of wasted time such as computer boot time, place movement time, and pre-activity is high. In the case of block classes, this can be reduced, and students who are interested in activities continued their activities even during breaks and increased time. First, it should be noted that AI convergence education should be conducted happily according to the student level. To this end, the student's knowledge of AI and the presence or absence of private education were checked and reflected in the class operation. In the case of the students who participated in this study, it was confirmed that the degree of tablet use was good, but the computer typing and search ability were insufficient. The deficiencies were supplemented before the project, and all students could enjoy participating in computer-based classes. In the individual interviews of students, many students answered that typing practice and Internet search were positive for activities through pre-learning. Second, we propose to proceed with the project in connection with the home. Parents often wonder about their children's class activities, but positive feedback was provided through SNS through sharing learning contents, learning processes, and learning outcomes. Parents' increased interest in AI convergence education had a positive effect on students' participation in learning, which seems to have been a driving force for them to enjoy participating in classes. This study presented an effective teaching and learning program for AI convergence education by developing a program that evenly deals with three areas of AI education and verifying its effectiveness. This is expected to be the foundation for supporting AI convergence education for elementary school students.
