The purpose of this thesis is to explore the pedagogical significance of Tea Ceremony lesson derived from the thought of Daseonilmi of Zen Master Choui Choeui was a Seonian who was active in the late 18th century and early 19th century, mainly in Jeollanam-do. His real name is Jang Eui-soon. He is known for restoring Seoncha at Daeheungsa Temple and establishing the tradition of drinking tea in Chongrim. In the meantime, the Buddhist and philosophical worlds have continued to study Choui Seonsa. In particular, centered on his representative work 『Dongdasong』, it has been revealed that the state of Seon practice and tea ceremony are the same. In the field of education, many practical studies have been conducted. It has been revealed that the tea ceremony lesson program has a great effect on the improvement of personality and emotional stability. Based on these preceding studies, this study examined the pedagogical significance of tea ceremony lesson in comparison with labor education, character education, and ecological education. The reasons for choosing these discourses as subjects of discussion are as follows. Starting from the middle of the 20th century, the Anthropocene problem emerged as human activities seriously destroyed the earth's environment. In particular, serious natural disasters such as extreme heat, drought, and floods as a reaction to global warming have threatened the lives of residents. Western thinkers conceptualized this as ‘fragility, possibility of collapse’. In order to solve the problem of the Anthropocene, they came to put forward ecological thinking after a confrontation with capitalist thinking. While the critical mind of Western thinkers was raised in the historical context of confrontation with capitalism, the idea of Daseonilmi shows that ecological thinking is included in the daily act of drinking tea. Educators and practitioners who paid attention to this characteristic have developed and disseminated tea ceremony lesson programs. Based on this awareness of the problem, this study reinterprets the spirit of 'hwa·gyeong·cheong·jeok' in Choui Seonsa's representative work 『Dongdasong』 in line with the process of tea ceremony, 'picking-jeda-doing-plowing-eumda' and the pedagogical significance was derived. First of all, 'hwa·gyeong·cheong·jeok' means harmony between nature and humans (hwa), human respect for the ecosystem (gyeong), a clear and clean environment that is the basis for the survival of all living things (cheong), and compliance with the order of nature (jeok). It refers to a quiet and stable life. These concepts are organically connected and aim for ecological thinking. In the course of the tea ceremony, the act of cultivating green tea and picking tea leaves, the act of making tea from green tea leaves, the act of preparing tea in an orderly manner, the act of brewing fresh tea, and the act of brewing green tea The act of drinking refers to the act of storing tea. This series of actions symbolizes the cycle of sowing, reaping, appreciating, and preserving nature, and this study interprets their significance in comparison to the spirit of 'hwa·gyeong·cheong·jeok' shown in 『Dongdasong』. To this end, this study first examined the formation process of Seonron. In the 9th century, Seonsa Doui of Silla accepted Josa Seon. and Seon, which began to develop in earnest by Hongcheok, blossomed into Gusan Seonmun in Korea. In particular, the tradition of Seon was established as Bojojinul spread Ganhwa Seon. Seon Master Choeui, who inherited this long tradition, saw that one mind could be achieved based on the combination of Seon and doctrine and the unification of flag and body through tea in the Seon debate with Baekpa Geungseon. Choeui spread tea culture while interacting with prominent figures of the time, Dasan Jeong Yak-yong and Chusa Kim Jeong-hui. Although traditional tea culture was pushed aside by Japanese military force, the original form has been preserved to this day centered on temples. Next, I looked into the ideology of 'hwa·gyeong·cheong·jeok' in 『Dongdasong』. 『Dongdasong』 is a synchronic ode of 68 phrases and 7 words, and is divided into 17 paragraphs. Among them, Nam Guksu (Song 1), Chwigeumseol (Song 2), Courtship of a Thousand People (Song 3), Unganwol Song 9) are to 'hwa', Song of Sujae (Song 8), Poor humility (Song 8, Song 10), Palgwan Dong (Song 11), Rescue Musahyang (Song 12) to 'gyeong', Haeseong Somemyeon (Song 4), Gae Hwang's Brain (Song 5), White Jin Jun-Young (Song 6), Il-Yeomsiljin (Song 7) to 'cheong', Chongmyongsadal (Song 13), Nokungeun (Song 14), Mobunchesin (Song 15), Shinsangcheonggyeong (Song 16), Cheonghan Simseong (Song 17) was interpreted as corresponding to 'jeok'. Based on this interpretation, the educational significance of 『Dongdasong』 was examined in terms of labor education, character education, and ecological education. First, growing tea and collecting tea reflect the experience of labor education. Second, Haengda preparing tea and Pengda boiling tea reflect the experience of personality education. Third, drinking tea and storing tea reflect the experience of ecological education. First of all, John Dewey, a representative of labor education, distinguished the difference between labor work and general labor and concentrated on understanding its social meaning. It is well known that it has been used as a means. We can learn all of these spirits naturally through the labor of collecting and cultivating tea. Next, traditional thought has pursued an ideal human image that pursues 'now-here' by utilizing 'simbeop' in Confucianism. Tea ceremony education is no different. However, the recent discussion on character education, led by the 「Act on the Promotion of Personality Education」, seeks to replace personality with measurable sociality. This overlooks the discussion of the human image, the essence of character education. Through the experience of preparing and brewing tea, we can reflect on the traditional meaning of personality and discuss the ideal human beings pursued by Zen practice. Finally, we can understand the ecology pursued by ecological education through drinking and storing tea. Global problems that have emerged since the 2010s - refugees, wars, disasters, etc. - are igniting the Anthropocene discussion by sharply pointing out the limitations of the existing ecology that views nature as a management object. If Western thinkers, including Timothy Morton, pursue ecological thinking in confrontation with capitalist thinking in order to break through this problem, the ecology contained in the idea of Daseon-il-mi makes us realize the ecological nature of the behavior we encounter in everyday life. As mentioned above, the spirit of 'hwa·gyeong·cheong·jeok' contained in 『Dongdasong』 has been embodied in tea ceremony lesson. We can explore this in the pedagogical horizon. Faced with an ecological crisis and a global crisis, the tea culture cultivated by mankind goes beyond simple pleasure and is being developed with the ideology of respect for life, the spirit of self-cultivation, and the desire for peace among mankind. Pedagogically examining the meaning of this will be an opportunity to open up new educational possibilities beyond our limits infiltrated by Western thought.
