The purpose of this study is to identify the structural relationship amng mindset, grit, exercise flow, and performance of junior golfers. The sample consists of middle school and high school golfers who are registered with the Korea Golf Association, and the sample size is national, and 561 participants are selected through the significant sampling method. To analyze the personal characteristics of the research subjects, frequency analysis, reliability test, confirmatory factor analysis, descriptive statistics, correlation analysis, structural equation model analysis, and mediation effect are used. In the covariate structural analysis, the goodness of fit of the structural model was determined by comprehensively considering χ2, df, p, RMR, GFI, AGFI, NFI, CFI, and RMSEA. The conclusions are as follows First, we found that growth mindset positively affects effort persistence and interest in junior golfers, but fixed mindset does not significantly affect effort persistence and interest in grit. Second, the growth mindset of junior golfers was found to have a defining effect on exercise flow, while the fixed mindset had no significant effect on exercise flow. Third, growth mindset was found to have a defining influence on athletic performance in junior golfers, but fixed mindset did not have a significant influence on athletic performance. Fourth, we found that junior golfers' effort persistence had no significant effect on performance, but interest retention had a defining effect on performance. Fifth, junior golfers' exercise flow to the sport was found to have a defining effect on performance. Sixth, effort persistence in junior golfers was found to mediate the relationship between growth mindset and athletic performance, but not between fixed mindset and athletic performance. Interest retention was found to mediate the relationship between growth mindset and athletic performance, but not between fixed mindset and athletic performance. Seventh, junior golfers' involvement in the sport was found to mediate the relationship between growth mindset and athletic performance, but not between fixed mindset and athletic performance. Taken together, the results demonstrate that growth mindset is a significant variable that positively affects grit, effort persistence, sport engagement, and performance, while fixed mindset has no significant effect on grit, effort persistence, sport engagement, and performance. Therefore, it can be concluded that junior golfers need to develop a growth mindset, and finding ways to improve grit, sport engagement, and performance is important for their long-term development.
