A Study on Measures to Attract Aircraft Parts Manufacturers Linked to Local Airlines Due to Globalization Park, Ran Dept. of Business Administration The Graduate School of Business Administration Kwangwoon University We are concentrating all our efforts on aircraft business and strategic industries for aerospace. Korea's aviation industry is recognized for its outstanding production capacity, quality, and technology that cannot be found in any other country in the aviation industry through its well-established infrastructure and know-how in the aircraft field. In other words, advanced countries are producing and exporting wing structures for aircraft fuselages, which can be considered a high-level technology. Wings are a very important part of an aircraft and are one of the most important parts for aircraft operation, including fuel efficiency and safety. Aircraft wings are made of high-strength composite materials and are one of the parts that cannot be produced without advanced technology and capabilities. The point is that these advanced materials and parts are already being produced and exported. Korea's aviation industry-related companies, including Korea Aerospace Industries Co., Ltd., have world-class cutting-edge technology, research institutes, and human resources, and were able to produce cutting-edge aircraft and the Korean KF-21 Boramae. In particular, the successful development of an advanced radar system, advanced aerial observation technology with stealth functions, and aircraft engine production are good examples of technological prowess. However, developed countries say they dominate the global market by producing 5.6-generation aircraft, but domestically produced aircraft are set at 4.5-generation from the start. If the 5.6 generation is produced with current technology, capital, and production capacity, the aircraft production and aviation industry led by advanced countries may become a major competitor due to their strong restraint and reluctance to supply parts and technology outflow. Considering that it is a domestically produced aircraft that is essential for middle-income countries, underdeveloped countries, and developed countries, as it may be sold out before development and production, there is a plan to increase the ripple effect on Korean aircraft in the future by pioneering and securing markets. In addition, the beginning of the aviation industry began with a business exchange, or big deal, by exchanging and integrating five major affiliates in 1999, when the foreign exchange crisis was in full swing. Participating companies included Daewoo, Samsung, Samsung Techwin, and Hyundai Aerospace. Afterwards, the KT-1 basic trainer was exported to Indonesia, the Surion helicopter was produced in 2009, and development was completed in 2013. In 2016, the company began mass production of advanced trainer aircraft T-50A, T-50, KT-1, and KUH mobile helicopters, mass production and strategicization of FA-50 light attack aircraft, development of LAH small armed helicopter, and continued development until production of KF-21. did. In addition, following the export of airframe structures for trade with Boeing, Lockheed Martin, Triumph, and Airbus, the space business led to the design and completion of multipurpose practical satellites and geostationary orbit composite satellites. Recently, we have achieved the success of exporting our main production aircraft to Iraq, Indonesia, Thailand, Philippines, Senecal, Turkey, and Lulu. It has now become the sixth country in the world to export aircraft. However, the aircraft maintenance industry (MRO) is not making much progress due to outsourcing. We have reached a point where large investments and policy decisions are needed in the aircraft maintenance business. There are still significant conflicts over the scale, policy, and strategic operation of the aircraft maintenance industry (MRO). It is believed that strategic operation of our cutting-edge technologies and capabilities by properly hubping and clustering them will not only bring great benefits to the aviation maintenance industry, but will also play a role in establishing our country as an advanced country. Key words: Aviation Maintenance Industry (MRO), Hubization, Clusterization, Aircraft parts.
