This study is to explore the housing problems and environment conditions perceived by residents in traditional houses in Suzhou, China. The empirical data is based on a questionnaire survey, which were from 100 residents in traditional area in Gusu area of Suzhou. In order to understand the traditional houses, on-the-spot investigation and literature review methods are adapted in this study. The main findings are as follows. Firstly, most of residents are middle-aged or older people, and their income is not high. Secondly, there are almost no cases of organizing independent workroom and storage room in their housing. Moreover, the main problems are mildew, theft, rats and cockroaches, etc. Finally, the satisfaction with the internal housing environment was appeared reasonable, but the external environment is unsatisfactory. Therefore, the external environment should be more considered in the Chinese traditional housing policy.

제안 방법

In this study, the housing problems and living environment are analyzed through the environmental assessment based on a survey of residences on the traditional residences in Suzhou.
The study adapted the three kinds of research methods, which consist of the questionnaire, the on-the-spot investigation, and the literature review, and the questionnaire data was analyzed by SPSS-12.

대상 데이터

In addition, the scale of this survey is quite small and limited, only 100 respondents. Many people are unwilling to participate the survey.
The residence is visited to interview about its housing problem and to observe the housing condition such as the space organization, facilities condition, and so on. The area of the house is 36 m². The residents have lived here for 27 years, but the built year of the house is unknown.
Data were collected in the residents who live in those preservative residences. The questionnaire was composed of 6 items with 50 questions. These are general backgrounds of respondents, housing backgrounds of respondents, condition of independent rooms or facilities, housing problems perceived by residents residents satisfaction with their internal and external housing environment.

Second, the rent of the normal house is expensive, but people who live in the “room card” housing need only pay a small amount of rent to the government.

후속연구

Also, various analysis, for example the relationship between housing types and perceived housing problems and satisfaction, is needed to understand deeply in big sample. Therefore, further study on should be conducted in the future.
