WHO에서는 노인 낙상을 어떻게 보고있는가? | WHO[1]에서는 노인 낙상이 노년기 건강을 위협하는 가장 심각한 문제 중의 하나로 조기 사망, 신체 손상, 비가동성, 사회심리적 기능장애, 입원 등의 주요 원인이 되고 있고, 특히 전 세계적으로 고령인구의 급격한 증가 추세에 따라 낙상으로 인한 건강문제는 더욱 증가될 것으로 전망하고 있다. 미국의 경우 낙상으로 인해 사망한 사람중 65세 이상 노인이 60%를 차지하고 있고,낙상으로 병원에 입원한 노인의 절반가량이 1년 이내에 사망하였다고 보고하였으며[2], Akyol[3]은 지역에 거주하는 노인의 1/3이 매년 낙상을 경험하며, 골반 골절의 90%이상이 낙상으로 인한 부상과 관련이 있다고 밝혔다. |
